Yuko Otsuki was born in Japan in 1974 and raised in Japan. She is currently active as a manga artist and illustrator, and was a member of the art club when she was in junior high school. After graduating from school, under the name "Kanan", she participated in the project of Broccoli, a famous game-related production company, and created the manga version of "Galaxy Angel", which was also made into an anime. After that, when the serialization of Galaxy Angel ended, she changed her name from "Kanan" to "Yuko Otsuki" when working as a manga artist.

How she met her husband was through an editor they knew at work because they had something in common as manga artists.
