Taiyou Matsumoto made his manga debut in 1986 in the anthology Afternoon, with the short story Straight. His credits include boxing serial Zero, the domestic drama Hanaotoko, the sports manga Ping Pong, the beautiful and violent Black and White, and the Moebius inspired No. Five.
Black and White has been published by VIZ.
Matsumoto has won critics over with his unique and surrealist style of drawing, and is perhaps one of the most influential manga-ka of his time.
INOUE Santa, another acclaimed mangaka, is Matsumoto's cousin. |
