He also uses 高羽荣. In France he is known as Go U-yeong. He moved to Korea either during end of or right after the Second World War. Later, during the Koren War, he started work on his first comic while imprisoned. Shortly after the end of the war,1954, he made his debut. He is most famous for his adaption of the story of the three kingdoms. He is also known as one of the finest manhwaga of the 70s and 80s. As of today, his works are being republished by the publishing company Munhakdongne. Also, KBS is adapting one of his manhwas into a live action series. From the Koren Publishing company Munhakdongne: KO Woo-Young (1939-2005) was a cartoonist who helped Koreans break away from the prejudice that cartoons are for kid only. KOs cartoons were a cultural phenomenon, and were filled with satires, humors and twists and satisfied grownups appetite for good and funny cartoons that had not only pictures but also a story.
