While studying Fine Arts at Rennes University, he co-founded the comic studio Psurde. He made his debut with the French comic L’Homme qui n’aimait pas les arbres (The man who didn't love the trees) in 1992.
His detailed portrayal of rural life in France has earned him many awards. In 2005 his comic Les mauvais gens (The bad people won the prize for Best Scenario at Festival d'Angoulême. Les Ignorants (The ignorant ones) was awarded the Gourmand award for the best book about wine 2012.
