Can I add series that aren't printed yet? "Status in Country of Origin" Series Field "Year" Series Field I found some incorrect info and corrected it, but someone just keeps changing it back to the wrong thing!

Why does this website have a content policy?
Over time, we've found that we need to try to set some sort of standard for the type of information that we're aiming to have in our database. Outlined in this FAQ section is a list of policies that we hope people will follow to increase the quality of the information in our database.

What type of images can I submit for series?
We typically prefer the cover of a volume of the series. If it's a oneshot, the first page of it will do.
All images must be suitable for all ages. This means nothing sexually explicit or overly violent.
Our other guidelines are as follows: No watermarked images These are symbols on the image (usually over the art work) that signify where the image came from. Typically put there by scanlation teams of all languages, the original mangaka, or even by the person that scanned the image. We will not tolerate any images with watermarks.
Only original cover scans Only upload cover images that come from volumes released in the series' original language or from the licensed USA volume releases. This means if the series was originally in Korean, the uploaded cover image needs to be from the Korean volume, not the Japanese one.
If you see an image that does not follow these guidelines, please report it to us by filling out a Change Request form which you can find in your User CP or by clicking here.

Can I add information for unscanlated oneshots, doujinshi, novels, and other alternate media?
Note: This only applies to oneshots, doujinshi, novels, and other alternate media (which we define as anything other than manga, manhua, and manwha)
We would prefer that you don't (so don't) While we are a manga information website, we are primarily a website about scanlated manga. Unscanlated manga series are okay, but there are just too many other stuff to sort through if it's not going to be scanlated.
Once it has been scanlated and approved on this site, feel free to add the information!
However, if it is licensed, go ahead and add it!

Can I add series that aren't printed yet?
We would prefer that you don't Even if the publisher or magazine says that this mangaka is writing a series called by this name, things DO happen that prevent the series from actually being printed. Please refrain from adding these series into the database. Wait until the series is actually printed (normally first in magazine form) and available for reading in the author's country.

"Status in Country of Origin" Series Field
"15 Volumes (Ongoing)" means that 15 volumes of the series are out in tank form in the country of origin. The 16th volume is in the works. Even if chapters for volume 16 are out in magazines, there are only 15 volumes in print! So the field indicates exactly how many volumes are currently printed and are possible to buy if so wished.
If it is a new series and no volume is currently released because all the chapters are in magazines, either leave the field blank or put "0 Volumes (Ongoing)". Do not put the number of chapters released. Only volumes!
For doujinshi, leave this field blank unless there are multiple volumes of a doujinshi series that use the same name.
For oneshots, they should all be "Oneshot (Complete)".

"Year" Series Field
Just to clarify, the year entered should be the year that the series was first published (whether that be in magazines or volumes). If the first chapter was released in a magazine in 2007 but the first volume of chapters was published in 2008, then the correct input for this field is "2007".
Our reasoning for this is that if it was first scanlated in 2005 (using magazine raws) but it says 2007 in the "year" field as when the series first started (because 2007 was the year the first volume was actually published), then something seems wrong.
If it is a volume compilation of oneshots, enter the year the volume was published. DO NOT look at every oneshot and try to figure out the year of when the first oneshot was written. It is not what we want, and it's also a waste of time.

I found some incorrect info and corrected it, but someone just keeps changing it back to the wrong thing!
As basically any member can update the information on a series page, it can get pretty chaotic if some people continually believe the wrong information. Just notify us in a Change Request form or pm an admin (preferably faye or lambchopsil) to help you.
