Shame that it's ending so fast. You'd think we would have a couple chapters yet but I hope they can tie it up nicely.. I hope the author manages to get another series going some time.

God damn it. Not another rush ending. Is it that they don't give the authors enough of a heads up or do the authors just have problems trying to end a series well? Hope this isn't the beginning of another wave of cancellations.

TLR went on much too long than it should have. If they weren't trying to milk it, it could have been a half-decent 5-6 volumes series.

Good riddance it's gone.

i kinda agree that it is too long but i think they should have given more time to end the series. i wish more authors planned to end series instead of trying to make 50+ volume epic series that get canceled at before v20. on a related (but slightly off-topic) note how does one peice keep going without approaching a conclusion. both naruto and bleach are long but their plot gets slightly closer and closer to the ending as time goes on.

thread

I think that's the reason it's ending so suddenly. The publisher feels that the series doesn't "sell" anymore so they want stop it and print something that makes money.

buzz off, stinker.

i wanted to see more guest appearances by train T-T if it ends no more wah!

And yet another one that dies with so much potential left. Is it just me or Sudden cancellation is becoming a trend these days...

thread

» Digital-Eon on August 25th, 2009, 11:18pm

It was hardly sudden. TLR had been at the bottom of the WSJ table of contents for ages - and that's a bad sign for any series.

Apparently, according to 2ch, it was cancelled a little earlier than normal because of a breach of contract by the writer?

Anyway, this isn't really like Mx0. It wasn't particularly sudden to those who had been following something besides the plot (if it has one bigrazz) itself.

The only response to this news is four letter invectives.

I think I'll be happy as long as each character gets properly addressed with where they are going from here. Or at least important ones.

thread

» Kagekyuubi on August 26th, 2009, 1:42am

I'm glad that it's over. In all the 160+ chapters so far it's never had any actual plot development so it really baffled me to see this outlast Mx0. Goodbye and good riddance to another dull fanservice manga.

thread

» Kitsame on August 26th, 2009, 4:05am

Well if it had a little better storyline(i mean 161 chapters of fanservice, and without romance factor-did they even kissed or something without it being an accident). My opinion is that MX0 was way better and with a real storyline,it would be great if there was a sequel

thread

» aznluck on August 26th, 2009, 8:45pm

i hope the ending will have more pages then the usual number of page on the chapter and with color. "i hope" anyway i believe the "rush" ending is going be dull anyway you look at it becasue it rush and all. please prove me wrong.

anyone know what will replace it?

thread

» Dante00 on August 27th, 2009, 10:30pm

Rushed ending equals no real choice ever given by the main characters. It ALWAYS ends with maybe in the future, hell end up with one, but for now he just lets life goes on. I hate those endings! I swear I will never read manga again if it ends like that <<--- Not true.

thread

» awesomeguy2731 on August 28th, 2009, 12:00am

I was hoping for cinematic ending, where everything is resolved, everyone is happy and that everyone finds true love. To be honest, I wouldn't mind reading another 50 chapters so I can get a good ending, but if it has to end, fine by me. Final note: why doesn't Rito do polygamy? I mean, he can marry Lala and become the ruler of the universe, then legalize polygamy, and end up having a harem of beautiful women.

I've never read it. Is it popular or good? I've heard about it and remember it being mentioned in Bakuman

To-Love-Ru is light-hearted love/comedy manga full of cute girls and fanservice and almost completely lacking in any sort of plot development, though there is a little character development. Some people seem to be complaining about the ending but I personally felt that it suited the mood of this manga quite well.

thread

» Antaliss on August 28th, 2009, 3:57am

It was a fun read but let's face it, it's hard enough for talented mangakas to get published. TLR being canceled only means that a spot is free for someone else, hopefully some mangaka who deserves it.

thread

» thevampirate on August 28th, 2009, 9:52am

ugg it was just as bad as Mx0 if i knew that the series would have ended like this i might have never started reading it. the series should have had closure and he left it open instead... i would say more but i dont want to spoil it for anyone who would actually want to read it

thread

» xxangelboixx on August 28th, 2009, 11:18pm

yea that manga was horrible MX0 i agree with that but to love Ru was bad /OK ending but it could of been a better ending i didn't suspect that ending to happen after .it would of been better if it was up to 300 chapters so it give more details so you understand better and it would give enough time for the ending to come through like the manga school days that was so horrible almost made me puke on my computer that one is some sick chick

thread

» BigKahonass on August 28th, 2009, 6:50pm

man...that ending was horrible...i just wish that the next manga they make is good and has an actual plot
well anyways the artists drawings r realllyyy good, but its just the authors story had no plot..
Good Bye To-LOVE-Ru~gonna miss ya T~T

thread

» xxangelboixx on August 28th, 2009, 11:12pm

the manga could of still went on for a few hundred chapters . it was a OK ending but they could of did more with the ending like he goes and have more than lala and the other girls as his wives or some thing else or it could of have a weird ending like he has children with all of the then you see them living together . it was an OK ending like the anime but it was just too early for that ending . I hope the artist draw something good and hope for his success and i hope it come out soon =D

thread

» channel_49 on August 29th, 2009, 1:08am

Shounen Jump axe is just like that though, comes out of nowhere and leaves no space for ending, its like contract cancel, instantly ended.

Plus its been on the bottom of the ratings for the whole time, nothing surprising here...

just when he manga started to turn out good a lot of people read it then they do this that really sucks for the manga if people like it they should publish more instead of destroying it with a terrible ending after reading it a few time it was a horrible ending like the took a s*** on the manga the rip out it soul

thread

» xxangelboixx on August 29th, 2009, 9:14am

And thus another intergalactic harem manga ends like Tenchi.

Ending spoiler:

Spoiler (highlight to view)
With no romantic resolution and the reader wondering why the hell the main character doesn't marry the alien girl and then bring in the rest as his extra wives/mistresses in the galactic empire. Ah the trials and tribulations of a wishy-washy, unimaginative lead male.

When the story goes better. It's end without appropriate ending.
