Ala Atra Closes its doors
babel writes: After three years and over four hundred chapters, Ala Atra Scans released their final chapter today.

Their leader, vteck9 wrote in the forums:

"Ala Atra Scans is closing down effective immediately.
The plain and simple fact is that we just don't have any active staff, even the forum is dead.

Nagasarete Airantou is being taken care of by [g] Vortex-Scans[/g].
Cahe is still up in the air and open to anyone that wants it.

It has been a fun three years but all things have their time.
Let us not focus on the fact we are closing but on what we have done, what we have accomplished.

It has been fun and I will never forget my time with the group.

Farewell and good luck.
Untill our paths cross again."

» darkraiders on November 29th, 2011, 12:48pm

Well this is didn't affect me as much as dynasty since i wasn't reading a lot of stuff from them but still it was a good group and i really enjoyed the few chapters i have read from them.

All good things will eventually come to an end, Ala Atra Scans did very well in the time they were active, we remember the joy you brought us, your hard work will never be forgotten, and it's a good thing that the group ended with no drama or hurtful stuff like that.
My only hope is that from the ashes will rise a new phoenix. Good bye

Thank you for your hard work and dedication on all of the releases you gave us.
Goodbye, Ala Atra Scans.

Saw the news on their site this morning when I went to get the latest chapter of Nagasarete Airantou. I'm really sad to see them close up shop as I thought they did an excellent job on both this title, as well as Cahe Detective Club. Glad to see that another group is picking up NA, and I can only hope that Cahe gets the same treatment.

Well didnt affect me though...wait a sec! didnt Ala Atra give me mah dosage of Iris Zero!? *faints*

» thevampirate on November 29th, 2011, 3:29pm

Well Vteck didnt exactly find homes for all our series, but we made sure NA would be taken care of since it was our flagship series. I expect that Simple will take over Iris Zero but dont quote me on that. We had a good run and managed to catch up NA to the magazines in a matter of 2 years even though we were behind by 3.5 years worth of chapters when we started. If any groups want to take our series let one of the other members know at our forums.

Simple Scans? That depends on if they got staff enough. Question is do you do enough for your Iris Zero? >biggrin

thread

» Kaitentsuki on November 30th, 2011, 4:30am

ouch hit me where it hurts embarrassed

thread

» PROzess on December 2nd, 2011, 5:43pm

ofc Simple doesn't have enough staff.
But Iris Zero is handled by Gal and abc, so they will pull through, I hope bigrazz

thread

» T1 on November 29th, 2011, 3:38pm

I kinda saw that coming...not that this group would do it but that it would happen after the rants I did on our site and then later gave up by closing my group. (Though I'm still in process of finishing stuff cuz I'm damn great)

No workers means no scanlation.
Now leechers would say: "It's okay, someone else will do it some day"
My comment to that is: "The question is when and what's going to be forgotten"

Ahh ala ala ala....well you bought me lots of good titles; Jio, Ar Tonelico, Rappi and other great stuff. Oh well I can just go find the raws for stuff I still need to complete. biggrin Sux for others who don't know japanese though, lol

Now who's going to be next, kekekeke?

PS: I rest my case, people (You know who you are wink See, I know the future bigrazz )

You copy and paste almost the same comment whenever a group closes down. You really like what is happening, don't you?

I visited this group's place during their Negima days, Nagasarete Airantou was their pride. Sad to see them go.

thread

» Oxwivi on December 1st, 2011, 2:14pm

Thank you! You guys were one of the better scanlators, thanks again for scanlating two of my favorites mangas, both which you mentioned. I'm sorry that, as a leecher, I could not help.

thread

Thanks for all the releases.

thread

» vteck9 on December 3rd, 2011, 12:00am

Thank you all for you support.
It is indeed unfortunate that Ala Atra had to close but we were not really getting much done.
It was time to let a more active group take our series so they could continue.

thread

» saheton on December 3rd, 2011, 6:45am

i think the same as vteck, i never really comtributed that much to the group, but i will still miss it. esp. drunk Thousand_Master, that was insane. and the sleepty nicks.
