Another poll suggestion from nowyat. This one's about attending (or not) a Hanami. Not the right season for it, but oh well.

Going home wins. These guys can't wait to leave school. Guess it's like a prison, eh?

What if we don't have sakura trees? =/

I dunno. It's not part of my culture to go about staring at trees.
But I might?
Hmm.

I go for the good company. Sure the trees are very pretty, and I like trying new flavours of dango, but really everything is so much better with good friends, good alcohol and good music.

Well if I lived in Japan it would go like this

First I would take a walk and look at the trees while contemplating life. Then I would enjoy the rest of the night eating the food, drinking the beverages, and listening to the music. ORRRRRR...I would just stay home. laugh

I've never done it before, probably never will but I guess hypothetically speaking, the first time it'd be about the trees.

Then after that it'd be about the people you go with and just hanging out, drinking alcohol and eating food in a pretty environment.

Food *q* then take a walk and look at the trees. biggrin

If I were to go to one, I'd probably look at the trees first and then take a walk.

But it's not Hanami... ~_~

I live near Washington, DC and every year there's the cherry blossom festival. It's different from the Japanese version, people don't really have gatherings under the trees. Anyways, I've never gone. I don't really see the point in going just to look at trees.

I've travelled a few hours to "just look at" the trees before, but declined to do so on future occasions. They're pretty and all, but as you said, they're just trees. I can see them just fine on my computer, anyway. laugh

@ Night Swan- same!! I actually had never heard of Hanami or even a festival about flowers/trees before I started reading manga (google is my friend.) Well, at least I could go if I really wanted to... I found there's a Cherry Blossom viewing at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden (again google). I'd like to see it one day.

I would be one of those people who takes a walk, btw, but it wouldn't be an annual event for me.

I don't live anywhere near cherry blossom trees but If I had the opportunity I guess I would go....However, I don't know how long I would stay, seems interesting though. roll eyes

What's wrong with everyone?! D: Going to stare at trees.. Pfft..

He has the right idea.. Free food is the best reason (well, maybe free money) to be any where..

Besides, if I wanted beautiful trees I think I'd prefer Autumn in the Northeastern United States.. All those shades of oranges, browns, and just... Magnificent.. Not that I mind a ton of pink, that's pretty too... >.>;;

Any who, never been, probably never will, but if I did it'd be for the free food (and company if my friends went) and nothing else. Also, I don't drink so that's out.. (I count all beverages besides alcohol with food btw). >.>;

I would probably stay home, spring time calls for massive pollen allergy for me!

Ah, I'd love to go see the cherry blossoms in Japan. I've never had a chance to go... traveling to Japan is expensive. I think I'd spend the majority of the time looking at the trees by myself. I have seen pictures of it, but it'd be nice to go in person to appreciate the atmosphere. I'd like to see the cherry blossoms at different times of day to see what feeling you get from the scenery under different levels of light. To sit under them alone at night also sounds very nice.

The other activities (although I only have a vague idea of them... you have a picnic under the cherry trees with your friends/family?) and snacks also seem fun, so I'd like to spend a little time to do that as well.

Going home wins? And I thought the clubs had adding it up more than 70% of total votes. People aren't so hasty to return home if they have something they like and can do it at school.

If it's Hanami, you will surely watch the trees bigrazz.

thread

» TaoPaiPai on July 30th, 2012, 11:57am

I dont like big crowds of young ppl
I dont like lame excuses to get together and drink loads of alcohol
I dont really care all that much for cherry trees[they are pretty common all over the world]
Typical japanse food/snack=nasty

im not very social lol so...i would never ever go to anything like that
and its not like its a holiday...where you get day off or anything

So, Guys... That means the conclusion is: The majority of manga readers are either a recluse or even worse, a hikkie cry
