This week's poll of mythical creatures is the brainchild of our member rallwka. Please note that the list of creatures does not include everything in mythology but rather a selection of what is most common in manga series (although I don't think phoenix belongs on that list, but oh well). If your favorite isn't on the list, just choose something that you like that IS on the list.

What is up with polls and the gazillion different options?
Anyway, I don't read a whole lot of fantasy manga, but I watched a fair share of TV dramas growing up and Journey to the West remains one of my favourites to this day. Demons/youkai it is then.

I was thinking of choosing for "Giants", it's difficult to chose between demons, vampires, werewolves, and elfs....
Why isn't their a option all mythical creatures? (all dark ones or the light ones would also be nice for an option.)

I love Griffins:  My name translate as "The Lion", but i always liked Eagles betters because of my love of the air, so since i was a kid i felt that Griffins were the perfect animal, majestic and beautiful. So, i'm not sure what to chose... thread

Man, this poll was really difficult! I love mythical creatures, and I love reading series with mythical creatures even more! Still, as far as manga goes, I think I'd have to go with either kitsune or demon/oni/youkai (I voted for kitsune)... although a manga with elves would be pretty cool, and kappas are just adorable. >.<

I was really torn between Elf, Oni/yokai and Kitsune. In the end I chose Oni/Yokai.

Demon/Oni/Youki, because Asian deities and monsters aren't as well known as the majority of those and provide a slightly different picture and perspective of mythical creatures. Tengu are interesting, too. I'd rather see werewolves and vampires prance and sparkle together than anymore succubi and incubi. The only series with them involved is smut, hentai, and ecchi (do a category search once), which is a boring medium for all my fantastical, fantasy needs. Because what are they if not stealing you seed (well, your life essence if you know anything, but seed works with manga since it's awl 'bout the sexing)? People. Seems roughly 6% prefer fantasy with their dick in their hand  thread

Great Poll! I love mythical creatures. There are hundreds of cool, creepy and fantastic creatures in folk tales or fantasy literature... Unfortunately the most interesting are mostly the less known. I voted for mermaids, cause I like the ocean and everything that creeps in it, but... I love Gryphons!!!!! No really I love them. They are so damn cute and cool and... If you know Suikoden 3 (game or manga) you'll know what I mean.  aww Fubar <3 @BlackOrion you are soooo right.  Sorry, since it's not in the poll, this had to be said. And no, they don't count as beasts for me...  thread

I think yokai also including kitsune, tengu, kappa, and other mystical creature except the divine one(well some divine one can also called yokai such as seiryuu, suzaku, etc) or is it just me?  Also about beast, what does it mean? Because kitsune(fox), pegasus, and unicorn is beast thread

Anyways, it's kinda hard to pick!
My absolute favorite creature has always been the dragon.
But there are others I find interesting.
Like the succubus. I'd give some life energy for some face time with such a hot piece of ass. ;p
And the Kappa's anal fisting tendencies are quite endearing.
Demons are always fun.
But for me, the winner is will always be an enormous, ferocious, destructive dragon.

I like reading fantasy. But my favourite creature there is usually the human :x It's because everything's so wonderful that the humans really manage to stand out. *looks at the choices* So I've no idea what to choose lol.  thread
