|New Poll - RPG Class
|This poll from hirukayuki01 focuses on the primary class you would choose if you were in an RPG. I purposely chose specific classes and didn't include the hybrids like paladins, monks, bards, etc. Just choose from that small list. And I stuck with the more fantasy-type classes, so no engineers. And I guess archer could fold into thief, but I wanted that distinction between melee and range...
You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)
Previous Poll Results:
Question: Do you have real-life friends with whom you share your manga hobby?
Yeah, we read it together! - votes: 482 (3.6%)
Yes, but we read separately and talk about it afterwards - votes: 5640 (42.3%)
Yes, but we don't really discuss anything - votes: 3034 (22.8%)
Nope, I only have online friends who read manga - votes: 1810 (13.6%)
No one knows I read manga - votes: 2370 (17.8%)
There were 13336 total votes.
The poll ended: April 19th 2013
I'm surprised by whoever chose the reading together option. You'd have to wait for the other person to finish the page before you could move on. Sucks to be the faster reader

Thief or Mage. Warrior will be the third option.
Is this even a competition? Two words: magic missile.
I tend to choose ranged-DPS type, so it's between archer or mage, but the final choice depend on the game system.
The second choice is assassin, or anything with high attack and speed.
it depends on the game and on my mood
Warrior. What can I say? I prefer being in the thick of battle and warriors tend to get more action. Plus I love swords and axes.
hahaha! virgins over 30 automatically upgraded to mage
Archer, cause I love bows! In most RPGs (that I've played at least) the archers tend to get some magic effects on their arrows, bullets, etc so its magical archery!
Can the warrior use magic (example: a magic sword with some magical swing, or can they use an energy wave) or is it rather a plain warrior?
One thing sure, I want to use magic.
Mage. Sorcerer specifically. I always wanted to try casting Fatal Inversion on a foe.
Thief. I enjoy being stealthy like a ninja.
Well, my preferences happen to be the same as most people(in terms of number of people liking which more) (At the current time)
so...cleric in other words
my hatred to the modern capitalist world would fit well into what a druid is
and i would probably have problem with the capitalist way of thinking in any fantasy world too so
Druid all the way
I hate being in pain so Cleric would be my first choice. Warrior would be a close second though since I love beating the crap out of monsters (or other players)
I'd be a bard! : D
But since there's not this option, I chose Archer. I always end up choosing bards/dancers/archers on RPGs and MMOs.
Archer, i love killing monsters before they even know what hit them
Rogue. I do it from behind.
I'm always a Mage! Magic is powah!
I always play priests, so that's what I'll pick.
I've experimented with all the other classes; thieves, mages, archers and warriors are all a lot of fun, but I've always felt the most comfortable when playing a priest.
I usually end up going for mage.
I love being a mage in RPG games, I have no idea why I chose thief though :/ maybe becasue I saw it before mage
I usually go with Mage first, then change to Archer after sometime. Unfortunately I'm most comfortable with tank/healer type
Rogue!!! Duhh. How can you not love stabbing people in the back with crazy speed and be basically hidden off from the world? Twin daggers is my weapon of choice as well. Maybe a crossbow works too be it takes too long to load and thats not good for a rogue who depends on speed.
Aka speed>power. Speed also strengthens defense as well to get out of dangerous situations. Also agility and the ability to climb trees, stay hidden etc. is amazing.
3. Paladin-tyle swordsman(was not one of the choices but really should be...)
Irl i use a bow from time to time (I'm learning to use it i mean), but nothing beats destroying my enemies with my bare hands for me. Let me see your eyes as i prove myself better and the life escapes out of them
WARRIORS ALL THE WAY!
I like using bows and attacking enemies before they even see me. I think playing with thieves too, but when I do, I end up using bows as well. I think the class I use is somewhere between an archer and a thief.
Archer. Just love attacking with bow and arrow
btw, anyone playing Nodiatis here?
This one is hard. In games I usually play healer.. But if I entered the game I would love to be an assasin..
I love being a healer, but the want to just sneak up and stab someone in the back is always so strong....definitely a tough choice between the two.
I guess I would pick like this:
1st choice: mage
2nd choice: cleric
3rd choice: archer
Mage is the one I'd most want to pick, and probably most suitable for me (I mostly study or read, not into sports...) Magic is way more fun than weapons. Also, you get both long-range and short-range that way.
I'd pick healer second I guess, because you still get magic abilities and being able to heal people would be nice (I like helping people)... not having any offensive magic would be a butt, though. And casting boring status-ups and stuff doesn't appeal to me, so I'd definitely pick mage over this.
I tried archery once, and it was pretty fun (one of the few sports I actually enjoy), so I wouldn't mind being an archer as a third choice. Also the range is nice as long as you are skilled enough.
As usual a Cleric warrior. Being cleric does not mean being a healer, but being unkillable and the strongest if only for a few seconds (exactly when you need it). The best defense and the for limited time strongest offense.
Regeneration and miracles all the way!
I run with a Mesmer in GW2...illusion magic comes with flair
I would choose a magic bowman lol Dx...shooting magic arrows and stuff
not sure is it in game or reality...
I often changes my preference:
o I like melee since they are easy in normal rpg game.
o In MMO my laptop can't handle the constant moving needed (lag), so I go with ranged. cleric/archer
o If i enter the game, I like being assassin, speedy attack and sneaking around is just fun.
so... I am not sure I can answer the poll
I go for cleric though, since I enjoy using them in MMO,easy to find party too.
Right in the middle of the fray, damage and projectiles comng at you from all sides, enemies, allies even random mobs all mixed in one blob you might as well call a big target.
Charge in like a madman and escape even faster when you're low on health.
So yeah, Warrior, always.
For classical RPG : Archer ftw ! (and bows only, crossbows or guns are for wimps xD)
For multiplayer RPG : Priest \o/ (or more like any support+healing class)
haha, just for those type what I would choose would definitely a mage/wizard, but then again there's a lot of types of magic...
There should have been a choice of What is RPG. Because I have no idea what it is. I assumed it was some sort of game? Was I correct? What is it?
I've only played MMOs, never classic RPGs so....
I'm better with range than with direct attacks. Mage does both depending on the skills but i like what it has to offer.
I can work with these two.
Last is Cleric
Because a Cleric is really dependent on others and I prefer not to.
That's my order of which class I'd pick. If I could cross over after a certain level, I'd go for Mage and Archer.
You should try classical RPG =)
I find it a bit sad to only play MMO while you don't like being dependent of others
If any of you really like those classes and would like to play as one of them, I strongly suggest Aion! It is a free game and it's absolutely fantastic. Message me if you'd like to know more or we could play together if you already have an account!
Gauntlet - archer
RuneScape - primarily ranged
Fiesta Online - archer
Atlantica Online - archer
WoW - archer
If a bow and arrow set-up is available, I go for it.
I try to rotate, but it depends on the gameplay, possibilities, and available class actions.
I usually prefer something along the lines of battle-mage though... Yay for overkill AoE spells, yet still being able to dally about on the frontlines ^.^ (poking critters with a stick).
Sadly, TeS (Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim) is one on the few cRPGs to have a decent archery system, or I would probably play that class more often.
This is a fun and interesting poll! I chose Mage because I would definitely be a witch!
