New Poll - Exercise
This week's non-manga-related poll is from our member icassop. You do exercise or work out? If so, how often? And what kind stuff do you do? For me, I play racquetball like once every 2 weeks. That's about all I do...

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Which of these imperfect choices is most preferable in regards to a manga's plot and art?
Choices:
Great plot and story can cover bad artwork - votes: 6948 (58%)
Great artwork can blind out the nonsensical plot - votes: 1565 (13.1%)
Good (not great) plot with average art - votes: 2235 (18.7%)
Good (not great) visuals with average storytelling - votes: 831 (6.9%)
I'll take anything, no matter how bad - votes: 398 (3.3%)
There were 11977 total votes.
The poll ended: August 10th 2013

Unleast my job count, then no i don't do any physical exercise, but my job is really physical, so i don't think i need any exercise other then my job.

Um, well no. Not really. I don't do things to purposefully exercise anyway.
I walk everywhere though. Walking is my main mode of transport. I get my exercise that way XD

Does bicycling for shopping a couple times also counts?

thread

» That3rdGuy on August 10th, 2013, 5:01am

Yes. Just because one runs errands while doing it doesn't make it not count. It's just not exercising for the sake of exercising. If anything, it's smarter (IMO) to do something meaningful while exercising so you don't give up on it.

I live far from stuff, I need to bicycle a 3 km for the center of town. In the summer no trouble( I already did 65 km with a crappy old bike), but in rain season or in the season when heaven likes to dump a tick layer of snow. I don't like my bicycle in that period (note: I don't have a car sad )

Sometimes... usually only if I'm actually working (like when I do construction). Otherwise, I really don't need it. Well, I do, but it's not like I'm overweight. I'm just not in shape, either. My metabolism works really well even though I'm in my mid-twenties. If I were to exercise, I'd bulk up fairly quicker than most people, but I'd have to keep up that workout schedule. Otherwise, I fear my stand-still metabolism (I don't know the proper term) metabolism would plummet. I know too many people who worked out all during high school for football (American) and got fat after they graduated, no matter what sort of employment they had afterwards. I'm fine weighing 155 lbs. Not fat, but not wiry either. Maybe I'm just lucky... cool

If you weight 155lb then I hope your not a 5 feet tall, otherwise you've got a problem.

I do run to catch the subway... fairly regularly...

I take a vigorous walk everyday to and from the library. Which is quite a ways away from my house. I certainly can't exercise without a purpose.

i don't exercise for exercise sake, but i do love to dance in arcade or using my ps2. i love playing, dancing and having fun, exercising just don't sound fun to me. but yeah, since there is no schedule, i'm now an overweight slob since i don't take care of my food intake either. no so anyway i tick sometimes because i never knew when the mood hit me.

I'm still in High School, so I do PE. I also play soccer, but severely suck at it. I only play because my mother makes me.

I hate going to the gym. I had a membership, but I only went to play racquetball (maybe you can play with me Lambs~~). I prefer hiking and rock climbing.

Swimming once a week and some jogging. College eats up too much of my time for me to do any more than that =.=

thread

» himexcherry on August 11th, 2013, 7:11am

I exercise almost everyday, the only exception being when I am sick. I go walking every day (weather permitting of course, I don't like the rain) and do many core and balance exercises at home, no need for a gym, save my time and money on that one XD

thread

» Yurichi on August 11th, 2013, 1:08pm

Wow, weird seeing how infrequently people exercise on here. I'm doing a workout damn near every day. This just happens to be my week off (Woooo). I guess being involved in football and track has it's upsides. It's tough, but I've always thought that everyone should workout at least 2-3 times a week to stay healthy. Anyway that's my 2 cents.

thread

» RoxFlowz on August 11th, 2013, 1:32pm

Jogging. At least three times a week.

thread

» Curium on August 11th, 2013, 11:06pm

For the exercise poll instead of never you should have had the option "I get out of bed to get on my computer to read manga".

Exercise? No....... Well, I swim in season, but that's just for fun.
I usually don't have any strength left in me when I'm back from my daily exploits...
Though I do walk around and lift pretty heavy stuff at work a lot.

thread

» G-17 on August 12th, 2013, 7:44am

Cycling or swimming, depending on weather. Treadmill and rowing at the gym if it's raining. Usually about five times a week. Short sessions though - about an hour at the pool or a two hour pushbike ride.

thread

» PinkShippuden on August 14th, 2013, 1:38am

lol, does cycling to school 5 times a week count? even though it's only 2km daily haha laugh

thread

» sallyen on August 14th, 2013, 2:58am

If I didn't go to the gym, I probably wouldn't exercise haha. I usually lift and then finish off with cardio..
I am trying to get stronger so I am not doing much cardio lately ^_^ I also do yoga every other day :-) I love yoga.. If I could choose any sport to do for the rest of my life - yoga would be IT!

thread

» forgottenone666 on August 14th, 2013, 3:19am

I used to a few years back. I would work out a few times a week. Lifting, push ups, pretty much whatever I could do. I stopped though because I'm real thin and it was too difficult for me to gain the weight needed for it to pay off. I would have to eat way more than I'm comfortable eating just so I could bulk up enough. dead

Exercise is my mortal enemy , I can't even walk up the stairs without getting tired and sometimes fainting (like actually fainting since I'm anaemic so if I do to much exercise its dangerous to my health) that and I'm very lazy but I manage to be so skinny though v.v
