New Poll - Release Schedules
This week's poll comes from F_J. Some groups release right when they're finished with the chapter, especially those speed scanners. Others have a fairly regular schedule they keep, although it might not be for the series you want them to release... And others only release once or twice a month and dump like 8 chapters of 5 different series on you. Do you have a preference?

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Which do you prefer?
Choices:
Hero turning evil - votes: 3591 (47%)
Villain turning good - votes: 4054 (53%)
There were 7645 total votes.

I don't really mind. Beggars can't be choosers, so anything's good as long as I don't have to wait a ridiculous amount of time, like, say, an year for a chapter (not that that doesn't happen!)

As for my preference it's, Right when they finish the chapter.

On the other note, how can one chapter every 2 weeks be called Regular schedule? That's for biweekly series. While it's totally depends on scanlator's wishes, isn't it norm to get one chapter a week for weeks series. Groups may delay the chapter by one or two days to be on a 'Regular Schedule' (weekday/time), if there is no competition with any other groups.

I said once they finish. But its vague, as it is often irregular. But definitely i don't see a reason to release them in bulk unless they finished 2 chapters on the same day.

Am I the only one that's tired of mass bulk releases? You suddenly find yourself with a massive backlog that takes weeks to clear because every damn group releases a bunch of stuff on Christmas.
As that usually happens after a couple of slow months, it arises suspicion that some chapters have been held up to embiggen the holiday release...

Don't care, it´s not like i am in a position of power. I am just glad i am getting any at all.
Sitting on your work for a day is never a bad idea too but i don´t need polish. Just a coherent translation.

When it's an ongoing manga, when the chapter is released.

When it's a dead completed manga, that has been finished, but never completely translated, then in bulk.

Don't really care as long as, like calstine said, it's not a really long time between releases because a group's just holding onto it. Also, it's not like readers will know right when a group finishes scanlating, unless they're competing with another group of course, but yeah, don't care.

voted right away but for the right manga and if it is an already released, recent translation it could be bulk (1 volume)

I voted for right when they finish, except when they choose to release 2 chapters at the same time because of a huge cliffhanger.

We can't really ask for regular schedules, that would be selfish and most of the time when There are groups doing that, they don't respect their schedule anyway, which is way more frustrating than not knowing when it'll be released.

I think it's better to release chapter regularly. for example, every 5 days or so. when a manga appeared on the release page multiple times it makes me curious and make me want to read it.

and if there's a big gap of time between release that manga might be forgotten if it's not that good.
me? I like faster release, so even irregular release is fine if it's fast.

Bulk releases are the best - you don't have to track down all the individual chapter releases, and it is enough to entertain you for a while, allowing to fully immerse into the manga in question instead of just dipping into a chapter or two.
