Plot/Story
The story is set in the 19th Century in London. It revolves around Cain, the young and nobel head of the Hargreaves family, who wanders around the streets of London, uncovering many mysteries behind the curse of his name. With Riff, the faithful servant at his side, Cain is forced to enter the fateful battle against his father and the dark oraganization behind him.

The whole theme of the manga is quite dark and gothic. It is often mistaken for a horror or a mysterious/detective-liked manga because of the first few chapters. The story stops wandering nowhere and comes together later on in the manga, as the main character decides to stop running away, but instead faces his worst fear (aka his father)

Each chapter of the manga occasionally starts with old riddles or details based on fairytales or bedtime stories. Yuki Kaori however applies these detail in a very horrid and terrifying way, which makes some of the chapters gruesome, but also provokes curiousity from the readers.

Characters
Unlike many other mangas, the characters in GodChild is very well crafted by Yuki Kaori, who give each of them many personalities, thoughts and secrets. Which includes villains and characters that might only appear in one chapter.

Although the characters seem very mysterious at the start, each of their pasts is soon revealed as the story goes on. Many of these flashbacks help the readers understand how the personality of each character is formed and perhaps shed some sympathy.

One of the most significant features of this manga is the clear and reasonable changes in each character. Especially Cain, who slowly experience the horror truth of the inhuman organization belongs to his father and understand more about the corruption of this society in each chapter.

Drawing Style
The artwork of this manga is incredibly beautiful and also very unique.
One significance of this category is that unlike many other mangas (especially shoujos), each character has their own different looks, not just the same face and body type in a different hairstyle.
Moreover, the classification between male and female, old and young characters is shown very clearly in every page of the manga.

Yuki Kaori put a lot of effort in drawing each character (including hair, clothes and facial features) as well as building structures and scenery.

Each page of the manga is layout clearly, which makes the story flows very smoothly. The drawings aren't always arranged in boxes, so that they don't bore the readers.

Enjoyment
The manga has many wonderful elements, which doesn't at all bore the readers. Every aspect of GodChild is thrilling, explicit, interesting, as well as meaningful.
Although there are some parts of the manga that are quite disturbing, they all convey different meanings and messages to the readers.
Many religion connotations, scientific medication and spiritual witchcraft are included in this manga, which also add on the mystery aspect of GodChild.
There are many twists and turns in the story, especially towards the end. Many are undoutfully unexpected to the readers, which easily make the readers even more eager to read on.

Overall
Overall, I do think that it is one of the best mangas I've ever read because:
1. It has wonderful artwork
2. The plot is very unique and explicit, as well as meaningful and deep
3. There many things to the characters than meet the eye
4. The story is very well structured and easy to catch on

If you don't want to read manga because it belongs to the shounen ai category due to the relationship between the main character and his servant. Don't worry because throughout the whole manga, there's no disturbing scene that reflects upon this concept. Moreover, as the story is read on, the relationship becomes more like a bond between great companions/ brothers/ friends rather than a gay/bisexual relationship.

If you can endure a bit of violence, blood and enjoy well drawn mangas with deep and meaningful plot, containing different ideas and beliefs, this manga is a must-read~~~

thx for reading~~ weeeeee~ ;D
