Dulce Report is a rarity amongst its adult genre, because it is a Hentai, Sci-fi, Gender Bender with a fleshed out and fairly lengthy story. It is rare to find a lengthy h-manga that doesn’t get boring or repetitive however that doesn't mean you'll like it, because it takes a particular fetishist to enjoy Dulce Report.

The story itself is about a teenage boy named Momose Tadashi who's abducted by aliens, that are somehow affiliated with some unknown organization (I still don't fully understand it). During some kind of alien experiment, his body assimilates with some strange alien life-form, effectively turning him into a hermaphrodite. This allows Momose (now Momoe) to infiltrate the human consciousness, via. sex acts, because this wouldn't be a hentai without the sex and turn them into slaves or fellow hermaphrodites. The main story is easy to grasp, it basically follows Momoe’s endeavour, to gather some companions and slaves and generally have some fun, whilst keeping their activities under-wraps. On the other hand, there's a complex underlining subplot; involving police investigations & governmental conspiracies that can be difficult to comprehend. The story is interesting but it's the subplots that bring the story down as a whole, because no matter how intriguing the concept is at first, it does not stop it from becoming a convoluted mess. So even when some of the questions that are floating around are answered, it still doesn't make the story any less difficult to comprehend.

The characters are pretty well-rounded because almost all seem to do something to move the story along. Yet it's a problem when I just don't seem to care about the characters, except maybe 1 or 2 of them. So it develops Momoe's relationship throughout the progression of the story, since that is the major part of the story, but other characters are pretty much left to the reader's interpretation. This really became a problem has the story progressed and it kept shifting focus from 1 character to the next, without trying to flesh any of them out and instead just focused on showing more flesh.

The character designs don’t help much either because there are 3 girls, in particular, who are visually difficult to tell apart. Yet with that said, the remaining aspects of the artwork really bring out the mangaka's unique style; with well drawn characters, detailed environments and superb sex scenes. Nevertheless the over-sized dicks and excessive bodily fluids will be irksome to some readers.

Overall Dulce Report managed to produce something that is rarely seen in this genre… a fleshed out story. Most manga dealing with the futanari fetish just set the story in a school and have the characters erotically "cross swords" with each other and not much else. Yet Dulce Report tries to do something different by adding intrigue and government conspiracy. Does it succeed in this endeavour? Not entirely, because the story progressively becomes harder to follow and the characters gradually become less appealing. Will I recommend this manga? Yes, but only to those open-minded enough to enjoy some futanari.
