Saw an ad for a job with hours that will fit with my other two jobs, is close enough to walk to, & would be something I wouldn't hate (kitchen helper at a senior meal site) - called and it was still open - picked up an application, filled it out, and took it back...onl ...
New Poll - Pleasure Reading

I read pretty much every day, sitting with my youngest son while he falls asleep (and then sometimes for a long time after that, if what I'm reading grabs me). Mostly I read novels, often books I've picked up cheap ($1/bag at the library book sale, or fro ...
Why do some people dislike vegans?

Quote from Suxinn
And a lot of vegans just don't seem to realize this. It's as if they can't wrap their mind around the fact that, regardless of the food they eat, they're still harming our environment (and our people) in one way or another b ...

Quote from starsked
"Are you an anarchist/ atheist/ vegetarian?/ vegan?" Are things that people usually don't have to ask others, because some of them will tell you whether you want to know it or not and maybe even boast about it.

Just as a ...

When was the last time you sat down and read a book?
(524 posts, 57018 views) Posted: 862d 23h, 4m ago by TofuQueen in Chatter Box
Today - actually I read a book pretty much every day, sitting with my son while he falls asleep at bedtime. Right now I'm reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. It's good, but LONG; hope I can finish it before it's due back at the library. none ...

I think saying "in hospital" is a British thing...I've heard/read it in British shows/books (usually to mean a patient admitted to a hospital), but never American shows/books.

Because English is weird...these things happen... laugh ...

An update on my itchy situation - just in case anyone cares~~ laugh

The itchy bumps quit appearing about a month ago, except for one day when 3-4 appeared one evening after my teenagers were fighting with each other most of the morning. My bet is now on some k ...

My son got a call from a place where he applied for a job...this may not sound like much, but around here, most applications seem to end up in the Great Black Hole, so a call is a big thing! biggrin

It's far from a job offer (should hear back by Monday/Tuesday if the ...

Three fingers
(5 posts, 478 views) Posted: 934d 22h, 15m ago by TofuQueen in Chatter Box
Depends...

Mostly if I'm indicating three I'll hold up my index, middle, and ring fingers.

If I'm counting to three, it's about 50/50 whether I'll use thumb, index, and middle or index, middle, and ring. Very occasionally I'll use pinky, ring, ...

And I still come back to "keeping a relation ...
