Subtle, Literary, Deep, Intellectual and Artistically Flawless BL
(19 posts, 5097 views) Posted: 1672d 6h, 11m ago by luzzz in Yaoi/Yuri
Maybe Banana Fish.

I wouldn't know if the following can be classified as BL "literature" because time isn't on their side but I've always thoroughly enjoyed Yoshinaga Fumi's works. In particular Antique Bakery. Ima Ichiko is a ...
Sweet guy falls in love first

Emma
Gokinjo Monogatari

Some of these might not be what you're looking for, but I would recomment them anyway particularly if you're after *normal* guys who just want to impress their girls ;-) ...
Site Poll - Chat Box 73 - Disneyland
(62 posts, 4117 views) Posted: 1817d 6h, 59m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
I went to Tokyo Disneyland a few years ago. It got really crowded when the midday parade was passing through as well as during the evening fireworks. And the queues were just awful. Though, I wouldn't mind going there or any other Disneyland again 8D ...
Popular shojos you just don't like?
(508 posts, 65213 views) Posted: 1865d 14h, 18m ago by luzzz in Shoujo/Josei
Oh boy this is going to be long!

I hate:

shoujo manga where although the girl is described as an intellectual and a high-achiever she's in fact dumb as a doornail and has the common sense of a toddler. See: Special A.

Shoujo manga where the boy and girl tak ...
Have You Heard About the Swine Flu Yet?
(132 posts, 8262 views) Posted: 1958d 15h, 10m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
I lay the blame on the media for contributing to the mass fear and panic. I think people need to calm down and take a step back and look at the situation. The seasonal flu by itself causes 35,000 deaths in the US each year yet you don't get media outbursts ov ...
What do you think of Australia?

Quote from Auro-Cyanide
In terms of the boat people, I'm not so soft. I understand that they are in a tough situation and are in a dangerous position in their own country and are driven to desperation, BUT, and this is a big but they need to understand, it isn' ...
Is anyone else getting "tired" of Nana?
(20 posts, 3997 views) Posted: 2014d 9h, 45m ago by luzzz in Nana
I know a lot of people will come down on me like a tonne of bricks for saying this, but is anyone getting a bit tired of reading/followng Nana?

I enjoyed reading the manga when I first discovered it 2 or 3 years ago, but now it's just turned into a typical soap op ...
Do you owe your parents for the gift of life?
(117 posts, 8762 views) Posted: 2019d 6h, 39m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
Some of the responses on this thread are a bit discomforting, but I digress that every family is different.

For me, I love my parents and feel lucky that they have given me the gift of life. I know the hardships my parents went through in order to provide me with a good ...
likable?
(65 posts, 3581 views) Posted: 2025d 12h, 36m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
I'd go for a mix of some of the options, but in general I'd prefer the warm and gentle guy. I like guys who are stable, gentle and mentally strong. A good sense of humor is also a must.

So yes, while I find cold/mysterious/tsundere guys to be exciting in ...
Who do you think she'll end up with?
(48 posts, 6720 views) Posted: 2027d 11h, 19m ago by luzzz in Honey Hunt
It's pretty open at the moment as to who she'll end up with but at the moment I want her to get with Haruka. Q-Ta's *too* nice - to the point where it's unnerving. It feels like he's treating Yura as a younger sister rather than a girlfrie ...

I highly recommend Adolf by Tezuka Osamu. It tells the intertwining stories of 3 men all with the name "Adolf". ...
The internet is addicting....
(114 posts, 7864 views) Posted: 2040d 6h, 2m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
I'm in front of a computer for 8 hours each day. But that's for work. And with work, it's mostly using word and outlook. We're only allowed 30 minutes of internet usage per day during lunch, but I think I value my lunchtime more than an ext ...

House chores
(66 posts, 3497 views) Posted: 2056d 11h, 20m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
Well, I don't live at home anymore so there's not much choice when it comes to doing chores. I've come to not mind most housework but there are some chores, such as scrubbing the toilet and mowing the lawn, that I could live without. ...

I don't get how so many of you can skip breakfast. eek I'm in the habit of eating breakfast every single day. I usually have cereal with milk, two buttered toasts, an egg and orange juice.

If I don't, I get hungry to the point where I can't think or do ...
Did you attend your Prom
(236 posts, 15211 views) Posted: 2063d 11h, 16m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
I went to my prom (although we call it a "formal" here in Australia). And I had a fabulous time. The food was great, the music was awesome, and we danced for hours and hours. I went all out with preparations leading up to the formal - I bought a dress, ...
Waking up..
(147 posts, 8384 views) Posted: 2073d 15h, 1m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
I'm a bit religious when it comes to getting my sleep. I always go to sleep at around 10.30pm, save for those times I'm out celebrating or have a function to go to.

If I'm not at work or uni, I wake up around 7am. If I have work I have to wake up at 5 ...
Fruits & Vegetable, anyone?
(125 posts, 6463 views) Posted: 2073d 19h, 25m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
What's your favorite fruit?

I like all kinds of fruit. But I'm particularly fond of grapes, lychees, orange, peach, berries and apricots. And lemon for when I want to flavour the cakes I bake.

What's your favorite vegetable?

I'm not averse to ve ...

The Twilight Movie
(90 posts, 8448 views) Posted: 2081d 14h, 45m ago by luzzz in Twilight
I went to see the movie yesterday without having read any of the books. So I had no expectations whatsoever.

Overall I thought the movie was ok. I thought the acting was solid all around, and especially enjoyed Robert Pattinson as Edward. I also fell in love with th ...

Body Odor, do you have?
(54 posts, 3087 views) Posted: 2083d 8h, 49m ago by luzzz in Chatter Box
I think you need to add another option to the poll. For people who don't have any natural body odour, even without the help of regular showers. Which is true for a lot of East Asians because, like someone else said, they have tiny tiny pores.

I'm of Eas ...
