New Poll - Pleasure Reading
(34 posts, 1474 views) Posted: 214d 16h, 7m ago by Joentjuh in News
I read pretty much all the time, when I'm not at work that is.
Have been reading books since long before it became a requirement at school, my problem was more that I didn't read the books assigned, but the English translations/originals (don't l ...

Wanted to play Shadows of Mordor... dropped it after watching gameplay trailer / review (utterly boring and repetitive)
Next, Ryse: Son of Rome... Same, though more action and story oriented than ME:SoM
... Thought about Dragon Age replay.... but played it much to ...

New Poll - First Fandom

Euhm wut?
Weirdly phrased and very vague question. (also poll title doesn't correspond with poll question)

First fandom: I think it was Forgotten Realms (D&D).
"Japan" fandom: Not sure if it was any single thing. I simply like good quality stories ...

There are people who don't use AdBlock? embarrassed

I use Privoxy + AdBlockPlus + Ghostery + Flashblock + NoScript on every machine I own.
What still gets through gets removed with Stylish.

This is besides a couple of hard redirects in my hosts file (/etc/hosts) to a lo ...

Clannad, liked the anime better than the VN, if only for the pacing (but they both complement each other very well).

Fuko was brilliant, and the balance between comedy, tragedy, and drama was very well kept. ...

Neverwinter MMO, but I'm dropping it till the next campaign is out (they brought the drop-rates down and it has gotten really boring lately). Note, I play it like a (mostly) single-player game, and I'm not one for mindless repetition for meagre rewards.

Ah w ...

I Follow Rivers by Lykke Li

Good song, but I much prefer the Triggerfinger cover, or as a close second the Magician Remix... Both make the original kind of bland imo. ...
How old were you when you got your first cell phone?

I'm one of those rare few (at 26) that doesn't have one. Never saw the need for it.
Might buy a cheap one in the near future for work though... ...

Bad/ugly art
Bad/nonsensical plot
Annoying stereotypical characters
Character template (one face + slightly different hairstyle for many characters)
Overly big eyes
Cerebus effect
... or when plot is lost and the manga becomes an Ecchi-fest
Repeating content

New Poll - RPG Class
(43 posts, 3456 views) Posted: 767d 11h, 46m ago by Joentjuh in News
I try to rotate, but it depends on the gameplay, possibilities, and available class actions.
I usually prefer something along the lines of battle-mage though... Yay for overkill AoE spells, yet still being able to dally about on the frontlines ^.^ (poking critters with a stick).

Sadly ...

Shounen-ai (and thus also Yaoi), not that I dislike that particular genre, but I dislike the 'culture' that surrounds it. The constant need for stereotyping everything, rarely have I read a shounen-ai manga where the two leading characters are actually ' ...
New Poll - Non-Manga Reading
(23 posts, 2394 views) Posted: 865d 19h, 11m ago by Joentjuh in News
Used to read about as much manga as I read novels... That all changed when I bought an eReader and (later) discovered fanfiction ^.^
Now I've fallen so far behind on many anime and manga that I'm not sure if I'll even bother catching up (if I ha ...

I've had this thought for a while no (but no ambition to actually act upon it), but wouldn't it be nice if there was an 'interactive' Manga reader/editor.

Think the way you watch movies, there are separate tracks for audio, video, and subtitles. ...
What TV Shows Do You Watch?
(225 posts, 21838 views) Posted: 937d 21h, 29m ago by Joentjuh in Chatter Box
- QI
- Top Gear (though couldn't care less about the cars bigrazz )
Both shows are British

And that's about it. I'm underwhelmed with what catches my attention when browsing the web (rarely watch a series beyond the second episode). I'd much ...

male 10yo thingking about sex with his hot teacher = normal
girl 10yo thinking about sex with her hot teacher = sick and gets easily turned into a discussion about pedophilia

IS - Otoko demo Onna demo Nai Sei, at least in my opinion. Not that it taught me anything new (in fact, I was under the impression that it was even MORE common than indicated), but it brought the issue into focus and made me think, realising that the situation where I ...
Longest Playing Time
(11 posts, 772 views) Posted: 968d 18h, 26m ago by Joentjuh in Games
Single sitting: ±32 hours SW-KotOR (start to finish, highest difficulty)
I don't think I'll be braking that record anytime soon... Playing 10 hours straight has already become quite tiring for me (and that is if I can find the time).

Most hours spent playing a ...
