Solid

Fairly good horror/parasite series. Weaknesses are that it could include more conflict in terms of the individual with his family, and perhaps a competing love interest, but the action scenes are what make this manga.

Overall, it is a solid manga, but not one that manages to become unforgettable.

This is your premise on drugs

Take the idea of a supernatural force possessing and killing humans (Devilman). Now take the idea of a sentient being replacing your right arm (Midori no Hibi). Mix the two together. This is the most generalized summary of the premise of Parasyte.

Yet everybody will only remember it for the cock-arm in chapter 2. Figures.

Good Series

This series has an original concept that touches on very philosophical questions. The beginning was very entertaining as the main character slowly develops and comes to grips with the parasite situation. However, from the military raid onwards, the pacing speeds up dramatically and major inconsistencies arise (such as the mayor being a human) as the story is forced to an abrupt end.

Overall, I would recommend this series for a casual read. It's good but nothing to write home about.

Different from everything else

Strage Manga, Lot's entretaining battles, some gore in them.
Touches lot's of themes, a simbiotic relationship, the point of view of humankind as one among other spicies and the evolution of the personality, and the way of thinking of a person through some experiences...

Has a differn't drawing style (well, different for me who hasn't read too much manga).

I'll only critisize that some emotions of the main character, and the reactions in the main character seemed a bit fake for a real "human", but came on, it's a manga about parasytes ruling the world.

Finaly I'll say that this manga has something that makes you say, this is stupid, I won't keep reading it, but some strange force avoids you from dropping it. I can't explain it...

Well it's deffinitely not a masterpiece but it's must read. The plot has an approach that i couldn't find in another manga yet.

If you are looking for something different this is a good choice.

Parasite

I didn't want to read parasyte at first. Thought it was some insane horror manga.
Turns out it's actually really good. Kept me interested and I finished it in three days, so that says something about how good it is (at least in my book). laugh

Anyways, even for its age the art was quite nice. Realistic. And I loved how tha parasites were drawn, all the movements and so.
The only thing that I thought was lacking were the characters. They were a bit emotionless and even when they did show emotion it was kind of strange...
Good thing the focus was on other things, because if not it would have bothered me more.
Really good story telling and fast paced.

This manga was awesome, and unique in regards to its interesting premise. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, and finished the manga in one sitting. The most attractive thing to me about the manga was the development of the relationship between Shinji and Migi. The only complaint I have about the manga is how they draw Shinji's girlfriend. 95% of the time she's drawn like a 40 year-old, and as a consequence it always feels weird when she and Shinji are drawn in the same frame.

iwaaki is a genius in storytelling, never once do u feel stagnant the story flows and flows like ur drinking from a cup. he tied up all or most of the important loose ends and made a neat clean cut ending.

Great manga but ended too abruptly

I like the character design. Why does one need to have flashy character make up? I like the quote, "Simplify, simplify, simplify". I also happen to like the philosophical approach in the manga. Its not all about the blood and gore.

Well, Psychological has always been my favorite genre, and lately, horror has become my second. THIS MANGA IS GREAT! I mean, I love it. Its defiantly one of the best I have ever read.

The ending was a bit abrupt, but its still really great. =D

A must read for everyone.
