well, I read a lot of Yaoi manga. but this was the first manga that I read and after that, I was disgusted with characters. the story was good and unpredictable. but really😕 just because you want to make a story unpredictable you can't go and mess with everything. At first, I loved the characters but when the story goes on, every character is changed and doing some stupid stuff and force you to love them but you just simply can't love them anymore.

I love that everyone got a happy ending, but I'm frustrated that Momoya and Michiro don't have a spin-off! A really cool guy with an adorable sensitive guy! I looked through the other mangas, and I can't find more on them! Why! WHY?! I just want some adorable fluff!

Don't get me wrong, I like Kano Shiuko and her works, this manga is just an exception that it really disturbed me.
The ending was rushed and the pairings just felt wrong it shocked me.
Now that I've finished reading 3 volumes in one go, I deeply regret doing so - I should read the review and keep it untouched.

(writing this just after finishing the 2nd chapter, I'll finish reading but I just hafta get this off my chest)

if you're someone who feels uncomfortable reading BL if you don't know who will be who in the pairing/coupling, who's seme/uke, and has a strong dislike for seke charas then we can relate w/ each other and I might have some answers with me...


if you've been reading Kano-sensei's works before this, then you'd know sensei's uke when sensei presents them. there's always a pattern, like how Ootsuki Miu's uke have their feminine eyes with their long lashes and I just happen to finish reading Yakuza in Love so the uke there and this particular person here kinda resemble each other so it's not that big a shock if you're familiar with Kano-sensei's style, yes?

even though I'm not even halfway through the manga, I like it and I feel I'll like it to the end or maybe I'll really really like it Kano-sensei makes really good BL, and if you're bored this will give you a fix for sure ^ ^

the only thing i liked was the extra story and that because it was somewhat innocent and sweet. the main story was a big let-down. it felt so wrong watching all guys doing h stuff with each other, without any romance background, it was one of the few yaoi i felt so disturbed while reading. :<
oh, and the ending felt rushed.

This was a great read, good art for the most part and a fun story line. It was amusing without being too silly and there was a rather complex range of characters and emotions flying around. My only complaint, and this is a major complaint, is that it was too short! I want more xD none of the pairings had solid conclusions, do they get together, don't they?

I liked it, it was funny, like really funny, not embarassing and totaly unexpected. but the romances were just too fast, they could straggle a bit more, I mean, there were 3 couples, and only 3 volumes, well maybe it's because I always read longer series, but this was too fast. if there was more drama, I could give it more than 7,5. I would described it with the word "funny".....(but not very romantic).



And I mean, jeez, they had 15!!! 15!!!! oh, but overall, it was funny.

I love that the pairings aren't obvious from the beginning. Some may be annoyed at the pairings at the end, but for me they worked and its cool that they weren't predictable. And for some reason I really love yaoi that deals with a father-son relationship. Its just cool that the manga didn't only show romantic relationships, but also family relationships, and friendship.

the pairings at the end bothered me. i think it's because we spend most of the time seeing certain characters and learning about them, and then crisis happens, and *boom* all of a sudden everything is different -- and everyone gets used to it within days! i just didn't buy it; it felt ... manipulated, as if kano wanted to screw with the readers and our expectations. i wouldn't have minded if this had happened to one pairing, but to all of them? uh hn. and while i can see this sort of thing happening to haruka (he is 15; sure) and sort of to tetsuo (he's in the closet and in serious denial), i don't for a second believe it with michiro. tying up all the ends so quickly doesn't work in the manga's favour; i could have gotten used to it if we had 3 more volumes in which the new relationships can grow more slowly, but as it stands i am just grumpy.

screwing with my expectations is something i generally LIKE in fiction. except in genre fiction. i read that for very specific reasons, and i want my expectations to be fulfilled, or i'll feel somehow cheated. the problem is of course that BL is a ghetto genre; authors are locked into it the moment their manga is about love/sex between men because nobody else but genre publishers will touch it. BL authors who experiment are still published by the same people who publish the regular BL stuff, and it's not possible to tell when something follows genre rules and when it falls outside of them, unless an author is already well-known for doing it. i would have liked this manga a lot more if i had known that kano was gonna screw with me, but coming at it straight from all her other work this felt like a slap with a dead fish. and she didn't even give me her usual amount of great sex, darn it.

that said, this isn't a bad manga at all; kano is pretty reliably a decent author and artist. it just didn't didn't give me what i read it for. i won't rate it because i don't think i can be fair to it at this point. (i just now read the summary which has been changed since i last looked at it, and wow, that is spoilery. who wrote that; deux?)

Most unpredictable couples ever. It was a nice change to not know what was going to happen for a change. Still, I can't give it a 10 because I would have much preferred if my predicted couples had stayed together. I think they matched better, and that it's a distinct possibility that the mangaka changed things around just for the sake of surprising the readers and not because the couples went well together.
