What's the best way to praise this manga? Ah, right! It's a different take on the ideas behind Hoshi no Samidare, one of my favorite manga of all time. In other words, the consequences of typical shounen tropes (a number of people suddenly get superpowers, which can be used for good or evil; the fate of the world is at stake; etc) treated with the maturity and gravitas which the best seinen series have to offer.
The story deals with so many themes - despair, salvation, romance, tragedy, absurdity, weakness, precognition, determinism... But what I found particularly refreshing was its vast scope. It's set in a single town, and yet addresses a remarkable range of suffering with its cast of varied and flawed characters.
The final arc is fine but not quite up to the high standards set by the rest of the work; it's obvious that the ending was rushed. My recommendation: read the first 15 chapters - which are amazing -, then take a break before the rest of the series. That way, you can enjoy the whole manga without taking the risk of having the rushed nature of the ending spoil what came before it.

Gosh, I don't know how ib did it. It had all the elements that I ostensibly didn't like (in particular, the antihero protagonist who wants to destroy the world), but ib makes everything work, and work really, incredibly well.
I loved ib. It was fantastic. Probably one of the best things I can remember reading in recent years. The lines were poignant, the character conflicts fell on just the right side of painful, the art was wonky occasionally, but when it worked, it worked.
And, in their final comments, the author notes that ib is their "life's work," and it definitely shows. The whole thing is just so earnest, and this earnestness really comes through that, even with all its flaws, I can't help but cheer both the mangaka and the characters on. It's definitely a work that I would love to see them revisiting, if only to see how much they have grown as a person. (Because ib definitely feels like a personal reflection above all else, and that's definitely part of its charm.)
I've seen some people dissatisfied with the ending, and it did feel slightly strange to me (it's clear that it was a premature ending and that there could be more to come), but I still enjoyed it regardless. For a series of this scope, it almost felt like any ending would be disappointing, and the fact that I wasn't disappointed by that ending, no matter how truncated it is, says a lot about the mangaka's ability.
I'm definitely looking forward to their future in the manga industry, because if this is their first work, then who knows what other amazing things will come from them.

So it ended out of the blue, but the mangaka wants to continue the story at some point, when he/she has a name in the industry that allows him to do whatever he wants with the story. Hats off.
About the manga, the witch arc is a masterpiece IMO, the rest is not as good, but is still interesting to read a manga when everybody is evil for a change. Really looking forward for a contuniation.

chapter 13 tell beautifully
now it's worth to tell "the witch" as main heroine if this manga this short
the heroine in the start just become a passerby heroine with this witch arc end
oh, this one is nice read

Welcome to the NH... *ahem*, "loneliness" - The Manga. Or.. "Light at the end of the tunnel" - The Manga. Or... "Healing" - The Manga.
Well, it's a good read and the drawing are done well overall, expressions sometimes could have been made better though. Makes eager to read more.
/ Rating doesn't reflect anything. /
After the end of part one - Magnifique
And then the second part starts and got me all disappointed. (taking this back. it's decent)

"99% of the people in this world are able to achieve happiness; the 1% that arent able to achieve something so common are undoubtedly out there."a quote from the manga
This is a 10 for me simply because it touched my heart with each chapter.

With long chapters, cute (but ecchi-free) girls, and a dark and brooding antihero protagonist, what's there to dislike? Characters have substance and believable motives. Can't wait for more! (So glad a new group picked this up! XD)
