Description

Kare Kano was the second shoujo manga I read (the first one is Fruit Basket) because I didn´t like the ending in the anime serie, and I´m so glad I did it! The special about this manga is the feeling you get when reading it. Various of emotions will develop in you when you go through the story and if you are deep-minded (as I am) you´ll get suck in the world by the characters. It´s interesting how each and every characters grow in the manga, both mentally and the apperance. The drawings gets better and better when they grow older, and how often do you enjoy the ending like this one. After this manga I get suck in the world of manga, and now I want to pass foward to the next future-to-be-mangalover =)
One of the most amazing mangas I've ever read. Great emotion, nice drawings (not the best.. too bad she wasn't prettier, to me anyway though she was considered pretty in the manga, which is good. It always bugs me in the mangas where the girl's always made fun of for being "plain looking" and people says he doesn't deserve the main male character.. stupid.. and half the time the girl looks pretty even though she's called plain.. anyway).
Long story, lots of depth, sometimes slow but easy to read through, and awesome ending.
You just don't get that good of an ending in a manga. I don't know why every author always wants to leave the reader hanging.. most of the time they do a crappy job and if they don't um.. hello, it's the end of the story, don't leave us hanging, tell us what the heck happened! Yes!!
The ending has like 30 pages worth of the future!! (30 double sided so almost 60!) Great, awesome, amazing, read it =D

The review makes it interresting though, must some comments make it so boring. I don't know whether I should read it or not.
i keep hearing about great books but they sound bad but then 2 or 3 weeks of boredom later i wanna hit myself for not reading another good book and this made it so much worse

I like this manga, there were no three or four way love issues... I think it was simple and heartfelt! 
This is a great manga really funny and serious at the same time with arima. I could read this a million times!
I read it... twice. "Kare Kano" is one of my favorite manga. The coolest thing about this manga is that it starts off with simple love relationship and then the story keeps getting complicated.as things pile on this intersting couple(Arima and Miyazawa). It is as if editor pulled the gun out before mangaka and said: "if this story gonna be like any other shoujo manga -I am gonna kill 'ya". I didn't like the anime though... I watched it and thought if it was introdution to first half of manga... The most juicy stuff wasn't shown, and it's a let down...
I don't know what people expect from this manga. Yeah, it's not very twisted, But there are its exciting moments...
Ah, and I don't understand people who drop manga half way through. If youre not confident enough, that you can take on 20 vols, don't read smthn so long. You can't have a complete picture if you didn't even read all of it.

It's nothing special. It's funny sometimes, but sometimes... it just seems like the author is trying too hard to be funny. The characters and plot is very cliche, and the series being insanely long doesn't help.
The drawing is alright, but it seems like the mangaka is good at drawing everything *except* living things. The poses are stiff and all the detail she puts in the flowers/background/other stuff distracts the reader from the subject- the people, who are drawn very simply. This is coming from an art nerd! 8D
All in all... not really recommended unless all your friends are talking about it or if you've REALLY got nothing else to read. =P

Well... I enjoy both the manga and anime. Indeed, the second lead me to the first. But right now I'm in trouble with the vol. 10. I didn't find the ch. 46 and 47. Perhaps because Aerie dropped the project in this point. If anyone knows where I can found these chapters, please, tell me.

I actually really liked Kare Kano...but I had wanted to read it for
years so that might be a reason. I thought the pacing was good.
I liked the character development... and I really enjoyed the
majority of the side characters. The main story was... a bit angsty
at time, but just a little, and the art wasn't magnificent.
It's for sure one of my favorites regardless.
