Description
Hundred - that is the only weapon that can oppose the mysterious life form Savaga visiting the Earth. The protagonist, Kirasagi Hayato, aims to become a Martial Arts Master using this Hundred. He managed to get into the battleship university, Little Garden.
"I wanted to see you, Hayato!" "How do you know my name?" Around the roommate, Emil Crossford, who somehow knows him well, Hayato gets an uneasy feeling. What’s more, just after the entrance ceremony, he gets asked for a duel by the campus’ strongest martial arts master, Queen Claire Harvey.

What's the Deal With Infinite Strato... Oh Wait...

Infinite Stratos is a classic. To sum it up in the beginning, there's:
Wait a second... Ohhhh...
Now, I know that there are tons of overused cliches in certain genres of manga out there, but Holy Crap... There are just WAY too many similarities between both IS and Hundred. Seriously, I'm not just talking about strictly cliches; I'm talking about specific details that can be found within both of them (as I have listed above).
Some people say that it's better than IS, as the characters in Hundred are meant to fight alien invaders rather than (IS's) mechanized opponents from other countries, and the development is (somewhat) more substantial. Still, it's kind of hard to consider it as a better version when it's copying so much of the same material in the first place...

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
>A (futuristic) school setting where they teach the kids how to fight in their own unique mechanized suits.
>A protagonist with short dark hair, a sword as his main weapon, a strong sense of justice, and of course, zero/very little common sense toward noticing how the girls like him.
>A roommate that's living together with the protagonist, who just so happens to be a girl disguised as a guy. She eventually gets caught by the protagonist when she comes out of the shower, and she has a major crush on the protagonist that he'll never quite come to realize.
>A girl with long blonde hair, a long ranged weapon (practically a sniper), big breasts, and a title that gives her high authority in the school. She uses her authority in a way that instantly upsets the protagonist and ignites a dispute between the two.
>To settle their dispute, they must engage in a public battle/duel using their mechanized suits. Duel ends with protagonist losing to her, yet the characters know that he's the unofficial victor of the duel.
>Aftermath has the blonde authority girl thinking about how impressive the protagonist was in the duel, and her interest in him grows from then onward.

Only read a few chapters

Why did I stop reading? Aside from the story just being cliche and boring, the last chapter I read had unfinished art. As in, it was the sketches before they ink everything. That was the deal-breaker.
IS

I didn't like IS, but I gave this a chance, cuz I was bored and people were raving about it. Yuck. A copy paste manga with a few minor details added to it. Maybe it gets better, but I don't think I have enough patience to wait.

Generic, cliche, just plain boring.
I can see obvious copies of a number of other manga/anime/LN series in this one, IS being the most conspicuous.
Dull hero who is your usual thick-headed dimwit; female characters that push him around without much effort; shallow romance; boring, Boring, BORING.
Seriously this is the manga equivalent of the cheap house brand version of Coco Puffs.
Avoid.
