but I will say that this is one of several series that started off reasonably well, but took a rapid turn for the worst and plummeted to the very bottom of the enjoyment barrel. Let me put it this way, it's like walking along the sidewalk on a bright and sunny day without a care in the world, feeling all happy and overwhelmingly joyous and then, all of a sudden, squish, you've step in a piping hot pile of fresh dogshit that stinks to high heaven, a horrendously revolting stink that makes you wanna puke your guts out. It's a stink so bad that, no matter how you look at it, you're gonna have to throw out the super expensive collectible pair of Nikes you just bought as that hideous smell will linger forever and ever, no matter what you do.

This manga started off with soo much potential, and it failed. The drama with the apparent love triangle doesn’t need to happen since it’s causing the story not to go anywhere.
To be honest, I first started this series thinking that this would be a romance between Nanoka and Hayato who grow through their teenage problems that are about other things besides romance drama. After chapter 11, I had my doubts and skipped all the way to chapter 35. There, the unnecessary drama with the love triangle didn’t get any better and got worse.

I wish this series took a different path since it started off so well. And it looks like, according to the other reviewers, the story doesn’t get better at the end.

So if you don’t mind a series that starts off good but then messes up by focusing on an unnecessary love triangle, then by all means, Ignore me and enjoy yourself. However, if you are looking for a romance shoujo with a better plot, skip this one because it ain’t it—unfortunately.

Nanoka is really making Hayato go through all this unnecessary drama. She should just talk to him.

I've should had read the reviews first. This is giving anxiety, and not in the good way. So much negativity and it just keeps snowballing faster than the reader can mentally catch up. I should had stopped earlier on. Better late than never, I'm dropping this series.

i finished this manga in spanish and let me tell you complete disappointment!!!
i dont remember how it ended but i do remember it wasnt very good. Kinda sad, because the beginning was very good.

The beginning was really nice and I like the art, the story starts with sweet breezy feeling about a quiet and reserved girl who fell in love at the first... listen, listening to his coversations. But this story is not about her, as the title suggested it's about her boyfriend. If you read the story, you would know which guy the title refers to... because the whole story is actually about him! His selfishness, trying to change, struggle, and letting go.
What I don't like about this series is that it takes sudden turn into a psychology roller coaster with poorly executed story. Dramas are thrown one after another making the story more and more unrealistic. Karasuma character is unnecessary at all. He was created for the sake of twisting the story. Probably it wasn't meant to be a long story so author was forced to throw a bunch of stuffs to prolong the series, lacking good ideas, confused, and ended up ruining the story.

I would almost say reading this series was a waste of time. I like this author (the drawings are nice) so I was disappointed. I continued reading it despite not particularly liking any of the characters or the story because I was hoping for some amazing conclusion with a happy ending and I didn't even care which guy she ended up with. My hopes were not realized. There were miniscule moments where you think Nanoka will change into a good character but then she goes back to how she was. The ending was very grey.

The story was so intense and melodramatic in the front but towards the end, it suddenly became way too calm, with everyone finally understanding and sacrificing their feelings even though they were fighting for it with their lives at first. Doesn't flow well in my opinion.

i could tell this manga was about to get really annoying with your typical crybaby, can't-do-anything by herself female lead so i stopped myself from getting a major headache then came here and read all these reviews that basically just proved i saved myself..LOL

Like all other comments overdramatic, only reason I'm reading it is for wangst and to see how ridiculous it gets. Let's see, overblown misunderstandings, amnesia...what's next, terminal illness?

If it ends the manga faster, I'm all for it. Don't count on this to be the next R and J.

Like everyone else has said, the first 8 chapters were lovely and refreshing. Such nice sweet characters who had the maturity and hearts of saints. But then I read to chapter 11 (the beginning of the end). I tried to reassure myself things were going to be okay by reading these reviews, but I was shockingly wrong.. Because several reviews have all said the exact same thing about its overly dramatized spiral of misunderstandings, reading 50 more chapters to see it for myself would only drown me in my own tears. Very sad that I can't bring myself to read anymore of this, I saw a lot of potential.

Save yourself, jump ship or don't board at all.
