I see all the comment of people hating on this manga when they have only read 15 chapters lol.
65 chapters has been released so far and i assure you this is gold for a shoujo manga.
True the beginning might be kinda annoying and cliche, but when you continue reading you realize that everything happens for a specific reason. Plus the character growth is amazing. It is overly popular in Japan and i definitely understand why. The drawings improved so much as well. I have reread it so many times, and i never get tired of it.
Makino sensei might use typical shojo cliches sometimes but she really knows how to turn everything into an interesting plot.
The characters all behave the way they do for specific reasons and not just to create unnecessary drama. Might be annoying at the beginning but i’d advise you to continue your reading, once you reach further chapters things make way more sense and are actually pretty realistic unlike other shoujos mangas.
I have read hundreds and hundreds of shoujos but i can assure you this is my absolute favorite of all time !

Holy crap do I love this manga. When I first started the story, the misogynistic overtones & blatant lack of consent had me hating Kurosaki. However, I love a good redemption arc & this story delivers. It’s nice to see a guy change b/c of a woman (rather than the other way around). This kid has dealt with a lot of trauma & rejection in his life - and though it doesn’t excuse the atrocious behavior, it does give a reason for it (as opposed to him just being a rich sadist). I also appreciated that he asks Yu “did I force you?” (Which he demands an answer too) which shows he would have quickly backed off on the physical stuff - the reason he kept on was b/c she was receptive. I’m up to chapter 59 currently in the manga & I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in this current arc.

I'm reading all the angry reviews and DYING. Is it cliche? What shoujo romance manga isn't? Is the heroine a little wishy washy? Yeah, but she's finding her footing and trying to grow into a more confidant person. Do the guys get consent? Nope.

But if you enjoy tsundere guys you'll LOVE this series. The character set up is a bit cliche but it's still really fun to read .

I'll give it an 8 but personally its a 10. I really enjoy it so far (1 volume in) cause I love Tsunderes. If you get tired of cliches too easily there is no point in continuing to read shoujo or romance manga. Obviously everything is a cliche. Trust me, ALL I read in Shoujo and Josei and I've been reading for over a decade, there are PLENTY of shittier manga out there.

this is my favorite!! im from indonesia and i really like your drawing and the story line!! very wonderful! please continue it, i support you! thankyou for this amazing story and of course thankyou Makino for making this story. hope you can update it faster bcause in my country it still in volume 10. i cant wait to readdddd it!!!!

If you read this as a comedy, this is easily a 7/10, but if you think this is a serious romantic shoujo, it's more like a 2 (or even 1).

Some examples from chap1:

- FL got her hair around the button of black hair guy bc why not.
"I don't need a button that reeks of a female"
So effectively, he gives her a button. Apparently, nobody told him that it's a cultural thing in Japan to give a button. And it means there is a love interest.

- "Black demon" does a kabedon but with his leg (is there a particular name for this ?). Aside from the fact that he does this way too often, which could indicate he just wants to stretch, FL answers back with :
"I'm not scared of people like you at all.
[...]
If you get any closer than this, your button will get tangled in my hair again.
If you know at least that much, then back up !" (i think this is a tl error, it should be back off imo, but nevermind).
I don't know you, but personally, i would be hella scared of such threat. Do you imagine ? losing a (another) button in my hair ?! Wow, the guy should be completely freaked out, no ?
"I acknowlegde your courage.
But i'm still not impressed."
Oh my god, this uber chad, he's not even afraid by this level of danger ?
I understand now why he is called black demon.


More seriously though, if you are less than 12 and are a girl, this might be your thing, like every other shoujo i guess.

There are so many things wrong with this manga:

1. Main character is stupid and shallow
2. Love interest(s) are both a-holes
3. Was there a plot to begin with?
4. Annoying Cliches ABOUND
5. This is yet another recycled shoujo manga.

I get that recycling is a big thing in shoujo manga nowadays. But at least-AT LEAST- try to make it interesting.

To be honest, I like the sadistic guy, I mean the sadistic kind of guy. The first few chapters were fine for me. But then the story gets dragged on with unnecessary things, leading it to nowhere. Seriously, it's getting annoying for me :/

this is like so many other mangas where the concept of the nice guy never wins is reinforced and pushed hard, and that something I never understood maybe it's just that females wish so bad to find a bad boy and change his ways (which doesn't workout most of the time) and that's why a lot of mangaka used that theme cause some how it proves that true love can change people or maybe mangaka and a lot of the readers just like the bad boy cause he's him who knows but i don't and think it's a over used concept. But if you like it where the girl does her HS debut , falls for nice popular prince who eventually falls for her but it's to late cause the evil prince already has gotten to her , then by all means this is the manga for you
