really standard plot with really standard characters; not offputting per se but predictable reactions with predictable backstories. i guess this story is very soothing- there are absolutely no climaxes, just scenes that try to pass off as such. which is relaxing, because your heart doesn't race at all, and i think even if i had started this story when it was incomplete (i didn't!) i wouldn't have been left with the burning need to know what happens next. of course this also makes this story super forgettable. already bits of it are fading from my mind

tldr read if you want something which doesn't you to invest too much emotion or brainpower LOL

It's a pretty solid and decent "vampire/zombie" series, and it reminds me of Seraph of the End, but with a much better protagonist that isn't annoying as hell. I really liked how the soul-sucking worked and how Larvae are made, it just felt really tilted against the heroes and so easily in the Grim Reaper's favour since everything was so much harder for the protagonist. I would've liked to spend more time slowly learning the characters so we could get more attached to them since I didn't really care when anyone died.

Really solid and easy to read action series with pretty art, I'd recommend if you like Seraph of the End or a lighter Tokyo Ghoul.
