In the Momoiro series:

V.1 - Momoiro Junjou Danshi (Purehearted Boys)

V.2 - Momoiro Renai Jijou (Love Circumstances)

V.3 - Momoiro Himitsu Danshi

"Somehow, over the summer, Yamaguchi ended up going out with his best friend, Takagiri. But now that they're together, something's really been bothering Yamaguchi; why does Takagiri love him so much? Is it his shaggy hair that begs to be petted? His often stubborn personality? Or the way he blushes when lavished with Takagiri's umm...affection?!

In any event, Yamaguchi's insecurities are really putting a strain on their relationship. Seems like he's pretty nervous about fulfilling Takagiri's more carnal needs when his mind is pre-occupied with other things. While Takagiri would like nothing more than to drag Yamaguchi to the nearest closet and have his way with him, it seems like our seme is going to need a little bit of help to calm his nervous little uke.

Aco Oumi's Love Circumstances is a delightful romp about the trials of young love. Will Takagiri be able to convince Yamaguchi that he loves everything about him? Or at least distract him long enough to get him into bed?" (DMP)

Some good moments... but not all that great

Like some other reviewers said, it's really rushed. And furthermore, it feels frivolous. I couldn't feel the love at all here. Sure there were some good moments, especially the smexy ones, and somehow I liked the characters (except for their superficiality). The art as well is quite good, and it even gets better in the sequel.

BUT ! The translation was so badly done it ruined everything, and that is the main problem. I'm not so sure whether the story in itself was confusing or not, maybe it also has some responsibility in this confusing read. But since the translation is bad as well, I can't know what's due to the storytelling, and what's not. I'm really sorry for the persons who worked hard to make this, and I usually don't talk about that because it's volunteering people working on it. But please, if you can't even write in correct english, please let others do it. I had to always correct the phrases in my head, it's tiring and frustrating. It really ruins everything. So sorry, I had to say it.

Also for that same reason, I won't rate it since I can't judge the story as it should be.

The start felt so rushed and I became confused... Were they just messing around? Half the time, I couldn't tell who was talking, and who's perspective it originated from. But it started to get better, only to finish at what felt like a rushed ending. Little motive for absolutely anything, and the entire thing was just... Fast, too fast for my tastes.

I actually quite liked this. Though it confused me a lot... Most of the time it was hard to tell who was speaking so I found myself having to re-read some pages. (Perhaps that's just me though, it may make perfect sense to others). Apart from that it was quite enjoyable, although there were times when I wondered how serious Takagari was. For instance
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
what exactly was he doing with that girl in the hallway? He seemed to have his hand up her top, then when he caught up with Yamaguchi he said something about how she was meant to give back some CD's... so was he using her body as payment or what? :/ Also, when they go to stay with Takagari's family, Yamaguchi tells him it's ok for him to go out on his own as he hasn't seen his friends for ages, then it turns out he doesn't come back till the next morning... what was he doing all night?

Anyway, I think the sequel is a lot better and it actually shows character development, so I'd recommend reading it too, even if you weren't too impressed by this one.
