Yup, definitely is! Though I've read it many times, I still didn't get bored. The story was told from a very pure point of a view of a an elementary school kid. It's very touching. It's perfect for all ages, specially for family. It gives you a view of family values, and how a kid is sometimes more mature than adults, in their own way.
If you can read the manga, then read it. Although the anime follows the manga pretty closely but there are a lot of things that are not resolved yet. And also, it's almost impossible to squeeze all 18 volumes to 12 episodes. In terms of story, I am always amazed by how far Marimo sensei can go with story. A lot of her stories covers daily life activities but she tells in her way and put a twist on it. For example a relationship between an alzheimer guy and his family and how Takuya and Minoru got involved with him. So much emotional story, I ended up weeping a lot while reading this manga. (hides in shame) Definitely a good slice of life manga that deals with family and people around you focusing on the two brother and single father. The story is not always happy but it's bittersweet. By the end of the manga, you will hope that it never ends. I hope this manga will be continued so that more people can enjoy the fantastic work of Marimo's sensei
i read this manga around 3 years ago, and what a surprise, its good! very touching, i love love love it and rushed into the bookstore only to bought all the series at once. and it was worth it! i never get bored of it. takuya is a very kind brother, though he's still a human, so sometimes he made a mistake in taking care of his lil brother. 10/10 for the character 10/10 for the story 9/10 for the drawing i wont give spoiler, just give it a try and u will never dissapointed
this series is worth reading. i would definitely love a brother like takuya. and the way the mangaka describde life's complexities into something so simple. i hope i can read all chapters,though..
i haven't even had a chance to watch the anime version.. guess i'll try it.
The taste is incredible. I feel my life at least had some meaning. So pure, so bright, so irresistible.
If there are some ones who hate this, you know they are being unreasonable.
This story is quite hard to predict, it's very emotional as if i see a life. 18 volumes and i love almost every pages, every panels. There is nothing to say, not even compliment because there is no compliment that's worth describe such masterpiece.
However, i will be bias if i say i don't have any complaint. The only thing i can tell is that the last chapters are quite rush, it's not as emotional as the previous ones and it's predictable. If i can make an assumption, i would state that the mangaka is out of ideas for it and come to a rush, but not perfect ending.
What a shame, i want more or at least something more touching than the swift living-happily-together-forever farewell. Then i think again may be i am asking too much, no one is perfect even Lucifer himself so i think i should accept this and be grateful for such wonderful meal.
It's warm (my main impression of this manga), it's simple, it's quite funny, it's felt light but definitely with emotions, it's a very pleasant and (again) heart-warming read. I found each arcs interesting and many are subtly deep. It's simply in a different class from Aishiteruze Baby (which I also quite liked btw), and it can be seen clearly if you've read further. The details, the research must have been conducted to write this manga, the soft yet to the point story-telling style, the conflicts and the emotions... The real similarity perhaps only that both manga have 'baby' in their titles.
The icing on the cake is that this manga just keeps getting stronger with each passing volumes and then in the end it's concluded in a... an interesting way. Too soon, I must say. Definitely recommended for those who can appreciate family-drama manga, with strong touch of comedy.
this manga is really cute. its kind of like Aishiteruze Baby, but longer and about a little kid that has to take care of a baby. unlike Aishiteruze Baby there is more emphasis on the difficulties of child rearing, but its the same close relationship. i'm not done reading it yet but i really liked it right from the first volume^^
one of my favorite all-time favorite shoujo anime; havent read the manga yet but will do so when i've time.
funny and heart-warming at the same time, without being unrealistic!! the author definitely either did her fair share of background research or had kids herself.
