Extremely average

Very cliche with unremarkable moments. I felt no chemistry at all between the main leads and I barely understand why he fell for her. Pretty art but basic story that doesn't do anything unique with the shapeshifting.

A bit cliche but good for a quick romance

I enjoyed reading this manga overall but the plot was very simple and had a few inconsistencies (it was hard to take seriously at times, some of the problems made no sense to me). Much of the conversations were very cliche (and trust me, I love cliche, but it got to be too much at times even for me). Nonetheless, there were enough sweet moments and parts that made me laugh that I could forgive its plot to go through only 17 chapters. The artwork was also very well-done (the characters' facial structures really matched their respective animals, which I appreciated). Plus I love anything with wolf/fox-boys so this definitely fit the bill.

I loved her she was calm and smart unlike other female leads who are dramatic and stupid.
I didn't know who to root for but I wanted to see more of the cat.

It was okay. Fullstop. I didn't feel any chemistry from the main couple tbh, they felt more like siblings than anything. Was rooting for the fox ngl. My head-cannon is that they get together in the future.

Feels like an otome game. Even though she gets a guy the final words in the manga is "I'll be with them forever". None of the other hot guys interact with any girls and triangle-kun shows absolutely no intention of moving on with his life. Everyone totally accepts her in the end despite being quite unremarkable a human.

Touching story

Like others have pointed out, the story does feel a bit like Fruits Basket, but it is still a heartwarming read. The main character is very easy to like, and the additional story after the ending about senri was one of my favorites.

Second the Fruits Basket comparison

Definite fruits basket feels off this one, but I'm enjoying it so far. It's lacking the mysterious element of Fruits Basket (at least so far), but Fushimi and Ookami definitely have similarities to Kyou and Yuki (and if she ends up with Fushimi that's even more of a parallel - I'm honestly not sure which way they are headed with it at this point, I think it could go either way.). So far so good and I'm looking forward to more.

It starts off pretty interestingly. Love the art, and the quiet female lead, Komugi. Being quiet doesn't overshadow the fact that she has a great personality, and is refreshingly kind.

The supernatural aspect of things comes into play fairly early. Very different from the usual shapeshifters in western pop culture.

We're also given a glimpse of the school idols, who will surely be playing a role in Komugi's life:
Oogami Yuu(male lead)
Fushimi Rin
Awaji Aoshi
Miyama Senri

I had to come back and check for a reverse harem tag and was relieved there wasn't one.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
She discovers Oogami is a shapeshifter on accident, and meets the rest later on.

Oogami Yuu(male lead)- wolf (Ookami=wolf, Oogami=his name)
Fushimi Rin- fox
Awaji Aoshi- tanuki
Miyama Senri- futamata (two tailed cat)

Apparently, they're magical animal beings that can disguise themselves as human? Which is pretty rare to see in romance stories, since most shapeshifters are those who shift from human to animal.

Won't it count as bestiality? Huh. We learn that Yuu (male lead) is different from the other guys because he's half-human, half-magical wolf. So it only counts as partial bestiality? IDEK.

Anyway, all four dudes can do full human shift, full animal shift, and partial shift (the usual animal ears and tail with human body).

There are a few family feels that made me feel all warm.

Also, I finally get what the other readers were talking about when they said it was hard to choose. Although Komugi will most likely end up with the titular character, Oogami, I can't help but also root for Rin. It's strange for me to like all three characters in a love triangle, especially knowing one of the parties is gonna get the short stick.

Still, I'm definitely looking forward to more.

You'll get to like the main girl for being calm and quiet, she doesn't exaggerate stuffs and has a likeable attitude. But the main struggle here is to pick between the guys, especially the fox and ookami!(but I'm liking the fox more, grr still can't pick tho)

There's definitely a Fruits Basket-like feel to this story--nothing too original. But I absolutely love the main character, who has one of the more interesting character developments that I've seen in a manga: she definitely is not a coward. Her male cohorts are interesting as well (though my favorite male character will most definitely not end up with her). The art is nothing short of beautiful, and I am definitely looking forward to how the story develops!
