Beautiful & Bittersweet....

ParaKiss has one of the most beautiful and bittersweet endings I have come across in reading any romance mangas. The artwork is absolutely fantastic, the development between the characters are done with just the right touch of emotions, enough romance to make your heart wince at the final ending but not overtly soppy. What I love most about this series are the characters, they are real and i think anyone who has read it can identified with them on some level; I also really like the styling of the characters! They really have a kickass wardrobe!!! Highly recommended !!

Ending

Paradise Kiss is a breathtaking manga. The ending - it was realistic, it was fitting and it was beautiful. It really does show cruel reality and how you sometimes have to let go to move on. I also love how the characters don't have completely defined personalities - like real life. It's not like some shoujo manga sterotypical heroine - instead we see layers of emotions, feelings that all contradict with one another strongly in the hero and heroine.

Read it if you haven't already.

contrary to what others say i think the ending was perfect. if it had ended like every other manga it wouldn't be as amazing as it is right now. i wouldn't have minded if it was a bit longer but just not too much longer. maybe the fact that it's so short added to the magic that is paradise kiss.

Why?!

I absolutely fell in love with the artwork.
The artwork entranced me and the plot line captured me and didn't let go. Keeping me interested yet impatient for some things to just, well, happen.
The characters were realistic and not all fake and dream-like, like most stories about college students.
It showed Yukari's hesitation and inner feelings perfectly.
After all, humans aren't perfect.

However(now that I'm done acting all haughty), I can't believe what happened at the end.
I know, I know, life lessons, first lov, letting itgo...but still, what's up with that?! This is a manga not reality!

I love this manga, I really do. I finished this manga in just a few days, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying, sometimes worrying about how the end will turn out, sometimes all three at once. But the ending... oh... the ENDING!!! Yes, it's realistic, but I don't like it sad . It makes me wish the story is longer, although I do realize that the length and the ending of the story is written this way to deliver a certain message about "first love" and "growing up". Still... I want more George!!! He's definitely the hero of this story.

MY FAVORITEST MANGA OF ALL TIME!

this is probably my most favorite manga of all time. Paradise Kiss was the first manga I have ever read, and even after reading so much manga, I have not been able to find anything like this! The characters are so utterly realistic and they are glorified in all their flaws. Yukari is perhaps the most realistic, she is uncertain of what she wants to do in her life, and when she is given the chance to choose after complaining so much, she has no clue what to do with all the freedom. Being overwhelmed with all that is going around her, she is completely lost in the world she is in now, and of course the hunk George <3

The story that was created was so realistic in the sense that everything in life doesn't really work out the way we want it to now does it? That is a harsh reality, and I think that was one of the main themes Yazawa was trying to portray in this story.

Beautiful piece of work, beautiful storyline which you can easily become emotionally attached to. In fact, I'm rereading the whole series for the 3rd time, I can't get enough of it!

...when manga brings me back to the reality of things, they're supposed to help me escape. But still, I recommend it, and Gokinjo Monogatari too, of course.

I was quite disappointed after I read the 5th volume knowing that it will be over. This is one of my favorites, it's up there on my top 5 and it's a must read!! Argghh Ai Yazawa, must you corrupt me?!
