Description
From Viz:
A hopeless geek, a beautiful woman, and a fast connection--could the Internet be his ticket onto the express train to romance?
A real-life thread on an Internet forum sparks a nationwide phenomenon! A nerdy otaku meets a girl on a train and posts an urgent query on the Web--How the heck do you talk to girls? What should he wear on their date? Where should they go? The forum's response was overwhelming, and the thread continued to grow along with their relationship.

I gave 7, just because I think there is a probability of 70% for this story to be true. The art is "comme si comme ça", I do not have particular dislike towards any sort of drawing..
I spent an afternoon reading it (a lot of time wasted).. finally I just wish that the story would be true and the roles in the real life could live a happy life.

Briefly, I think: this is not a cliched story (you could choose to read it), only if you believe it happened somewhere sometime..

I probably shouldn't rate this a ten, because the art really isn't that good, but I just had to. This is one of the best plots and story I've read, I was smiling and laughing all the way through biggrin (read it in one go). I couldn't really help myself, and how the story was told was truly an incredible and exceptional idea. No manga like this out there. An added bonus is the fact that it was not dragged out too long, read this if you are at all into romance. Characters fit prefectly as well.

Great stuff.

Bad portrayal of otaku

This manga gives the reader a really good grasp of what the densha otoko story is based on, but it portrays it badly. The main character, who is supposed to be a typical otaku, portrays NO sign of the stereotypical otaku attributes that one would expect, ex: fussing over anime/manga, going crazy over figurines, etc. In fact, his personality seems to take a complete 180 within the first 10 pages, seriously wtf? Instead of a otaku coming out of his shell (which took approx less than 15 pages for him to become a normal person and forget about anything otakuish, to the point that it never even appears in the manga), it is more focused on the typical romance between two shy people. The otaku part did not contribute anything to the story; the plot could've been possible even if a normal, non-otaku, but shy person had been the one saving Hermes on the train and not a otaku.

Makes you believe that real life love still exists, that destiny can start wonderful things and you just have to take from there and finish the job ^^
I know the drawing isn't great but what counts is the story <3 , so ill give it a 10/10 just for the story wink

sometimes happy endings do exits ^^ I hope densha-san and hermes-san are happily married with a beautiful baby like the mother smile

this was the best ever story ive ever read and the fact that it actually (according to the manga) actually happened, is even more amazing.

I was hanging on to every word and had the same reactions as the supporting characters

Normally I wouldn't read this kind of story, but this series had me grinning at every page. It's that heartwarming. The author created the perfect characters to fit this manga.

For most narratives, we continue to read to find out how it would conclude. For this one, we continue to read to know the details that led to the obvious conclusion.

Densha Otoko just happened to be a random title that I started to read and so much as I was surprised that I enjoyed reading it up to the end.

I liked the art, but it's not what you call that good, though the plot is VERY incredible, it doesn't leave you with questions and a happy end, i really liked this series.
Ah~ i really liked the main male!

I don't usually read this sort of thing, but it's really entertaining.
It's gotten to the point where I can easily compare my expression to all of his friends on the internet. (Mind you, I don't yell anything out.)
He's really easy to cheer for, and the storyline is the best I've seen for something centering on romance in an everyday setting. (Which I think sounds quite boring.)

I don't really think the art is the best, but the story had me going from the first page without a doubt.
