From ClubManga:
Kayama Miharu enters her new middle school and immediately becomes friends with Mori Mizutama, a very cute guy she first takes to be a girl but is really a boy. However, though Miharu likes Mizutama, she cannot tell him, especially ever since the older Kawagoe (yes, a boy) seems to have taken Mizutama's interest instead. Miharu tries to be cute for Mizutama, but finds it practically impossible, as he is both more talented at home economics and more cute than herself. Then, Mizutama joins the Kawagoe's soccer club instead of the comedy-lovers' club the two of them had decided ... More...

I really like Rinko Ueda's work. This one maybe isn't my favorite of hers, but it's still really cute! Although, if I was the heroine... Well, I would've gone for the other guy. XD

It was adorable!!! It was nice to see the girl chasing after the cute guy for once, not the hottie jock. It may not be your cup of tea if you don't like stories where the guy is shorter or girlier than the girl, but it was definitely mine. I reccomend this story, totally.
fairly original

Though I would have liked the relationship between the main pair to be more developed (it happened too fast), the idea itself is pretty original since it seems that whenever the main male lead is a cute and nice, but girly guy, he ends up having to chase the girl (who's more interested in a cooler guy). Birdy Kiss is one example I can think of at the top of my head, though I know it's not the only one like this. However, in this manga, the girl ends up going after cute girly guy instead of the cool guy.
The art is really nice and some parts made me smile; moreover, it was nice to read a shoujo manga with a male lead that isn't rich/cool/handsome/has mysterious past/etc. The story felt forced in some parts though and it could have been better developed. Overall, it was a nice and easy read.

Japan should get over its conservative values...

"I want to be a man strong enough to protect Miharu." Ewwww that nearly put me off... Thank god that line was close to the ending. I have some complaints I'd like to add...
1. Miharu (The girl) is a better soccer player than Mizutama, so why not put her as a player and him as the manager?
2. It gives off the vibe, "No matter how feminine the boy is, it is still his duty to protect the girl."
3. If Miharu sensed that Mizutama liked the tall guy, why would she aim to be more feminine? Like, it's pretty obvious that the guy she has a crush on likes masculine people...so why would Miharu aim to be more feminine?
I gave this a 4 because at least it's better than most other shoujos...

The part when she acted the prince was refreshing though.

This manga was so ridiculous it was hard to take seriously.
The female lead cries and whines a loooot , the male lead is so anaemic for whatever reason, the second guy is clueless to what's going on between both of them and is just trying to not fail his freshman year again. The female lead just assumes things and was bringing trouble for herself.

It's one of those love at first sight stories, the reverse role here is basically the female being a simp instead of the male.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The misunderstanding was the male lead thought he had to act more manly to get the female leads attention, and the female lead thought she had to act more feminine for some reason to get his attention . This all could have been avoided if she wasn't so insecure and actually told the male lead how she felt because they did start off as friends.
It was a really short read 10 minutes at most.
It was a really short read 10 minutes at most.
Overall I think the writing is very weak, too fast at times, as if it was rushed. It wasn't enough for me to care about the characters, especially the second male lead ( barely used for the story but clearly had a role) who was given little spotlight . It had little bit of content that I wanted but I will still give it the rating it deserves.
It would have helped if the perspective wasn't just the female leads, not because one character PV is bad but the FL isn't helpful. You can't help but see was she sees as fact but really she was wrong about everything. It would have been nice if she had some self awareness.

i wouldnt have rated it 10 based on my preferences alone, but i feel like i want to defend this comic against some of the other comments so i give it a 10. it's not good in every aspect but it's good overall. a quick and decent read that is also unique (i havent seen much like this?) i agree with one other commenter that it couldve been done less forcefully (i didnt expect that
although of course more recent and longer manga are much more well written and have more nuance in regards to gender and society but whatever im just here to say it isnt conservative lol
the whole point of this manga is that they accepted that they are different from the gender expectations of society.
one thing that i especially liked was how the manga showed mizutama being harassed because he looked like a girl... it shows that many women, girls, and even men who are feminine (like mizutama) face violence from it due to societal views about femininity (looking down on them, bullying, harrassing)... im speaking specifically about the train molester scene and the locker room scene, though that might have just been a device to show how "cool" the tall guy is lol. or maybe it's both?
my take might lack nuance, i'm not a sociologist or whatever but i highly disagree that this manga is trying to enforce conservative values (at least not in the way that the other commenter said...)

mizutama actually liked miharu but i guess that's the "surprise" happy ending and case of unreliable narrator, the narrator being miharu? i guess the only hint is that mizutama said he wanted to BE like that tall guy, rather than be WITH lol) also everything happens so fast but it's good for the length i suppose

for miharu, she wanted to get a guy's (mizutama's) attention and the only way she knew from society (since she is a girl) was to become more feminine
the same for mizutama, for getting miharu's attention he wanted to be more like that tall guy.
it's easy to see at the end (with their crossdressing in the play) that miharu can be the one who has the "traditionally male" traits and mizutama can retain his femininity. they didnt have to conform, they can just be themselves with each other. it's really not a hidden message, it's pretty spelled out.
