Less plot than I expected

I really wanted them to go through more ups and downs, conflicts, resolutions, etc. This is more like a series of snapshots than an overarching narrative. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing! It's great art, well written. But I felt like I was constantly being set up for a drama that never played out. It's good, but I might increase my rating after rereading it in the future, because I'll know what I'm in for.

I'm having conflicted feelings towards this manga because while it's not really something I'd fawn over and rave about, it is impossible to ignore its core strength at connecting with the audience as a story-telling vehicle. I wouldn't say the story is anything new; it's how the mangaka approached and tackled this familiar theme that made it shine in the end. Similarly, the art style isn't necessarily my 'type' either and there are times it got too sketchy and messy for my liking, but at the same time it is exactly the clumsiness and imperfection that helped to deliver emotions beyond the limitation of words. Told ya this was full of contradictions.

the first volume had more drama because of the way they got together, but the second volume was just little slices of their relationship over the years. nothing explosive or showstopping, but very warm and real. the kind of realistic relationship one aspires for, i think! 10/10 would recommend.

Plot was good

Usually the plot and characters in yaoi are... like.... meh. Especially in the student-teacher genre. I must say it surprised me in a good way. I mean, yeah, the art was so-so and the story in itself is too short, but the way the story developed was magnificent, in my opinion. Definitely a manga you wouldn't want to miss.

I enjoyed the plot development and I fell in love with the characters of the first story!! The student felt very youthful, I think it was drawn really well. I liked how the story was paced, slightly slow but not too much. Ended the story tastefully and although I do love it so much that I wish it was a longer series, I think the length was just right. I feel like it still could have slight more angst and drama in there, but it's great as it is.

Cute art and at times pretty. This had an interesting take on the student-teacher relationship trope, which I usually do not like. I could really feel the desire the student had to taunt yet yearned at the same time.

The other story was nice too. The bubbly and strong delivery man with the sexy older author was a nice combo.

I liked both stories, although they could have been developed more. That would have given them more of a realistic feeling and depth. Especially the first story.

Overall, an Ok read. Nothing too good, nothing too bad.

I'll say 'meh'

This was quite a tough one to rate actually.

The story: It wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't very good either. In the beginning of each of the two stories I still found them very interesting but their conclusions were somewhat lacking. I think it's the feeling that seems to be missing. Perhaps it's lost in translation but I dont think that's the case. So I'll go ahead and rate it 'meh'.

The art: Not my favorite art style either but not bad per se.
