It's the Art and Mio's Relatioship with His Sister

There are some really good parts to it, narrative-wise, especially Mio's relationship with his sister (this reminds me of Ani no Hanashi); but the relationship b/w Mio and Fumichika is disturbing because Fumichika jumps the gun too soon for me. They establish a physical relationship because a teacher can't be involved with his/her student? Well, even just a physical relationship is getting pretty much involved; too much in fact.
Still, it's just that I have a weakness for persistent love bearing fruit. Otherwise I would have rated it a 6.8 or 7; and that's because good yaoi/shouen ai is sparse.

Sweet

The art is clean and cute (but not in an overly cutesy way; it's more like pretty), and the story is sweet and lovely. I generally dislike those halfway-committed sort of relationships where one party is completely devoted and the other doesn't seem to care... but even though that seems to be the case here, I don't mind it. For some reason the sensei doesn't ever seem like a total jerk, although he has his moments, haha. In all seriousness, though, the sensei has some sort of bad-past, I'm-actually-a-good-dude aura that makes you want to forgive him. In the end, too, you realize you have to sort of applaud his self-control- his honest treatment of the uke is so cute and different from his previous treatment. Oh, and the uke is absolutely adorable, by the way... all the characters are nice in this manga.

I especially appreciate the uke's sister- rarely are there women in yaoi manga, and even more rarely are those women actually likable. The uke's sister is mature, fun, yet caring and supportive in a realistic way- even though she's a minor character, I appreciate her existence, haha.

Overall, a good manga- a recommended read!

It was really adorable in my opinion, but not realy until the end.

I have to thank Sasageru for poitning out how this and the spin-off were connected. I kept forgetting Mio's name.

Relaxing

Well i read the spin off before this, but its so indrectly related that it doesent matter bigrazz the only real tie is the kids sister. Anyway, the art is pretty good, its nice and clean, has a realistic touch (expressions and mannerisms arent as obvious as many other manga) but what is really important is the story - and i have no complaints biggrin I found it quite cute and i like happy endings. Its a little cliche and teacher student relationships are hardly new in romance manga, but the way this was done is quite nice - its gentle both in the story details as well as pacing. A relaxing read.

parts of it were really good -- like mio's relationship with his older sister. but the teacher bugged me. ok, so you don't want your student to be intimately involved with you; you're holding back for his sake, so he can get over you, and you're also afraid that he's too young and will easily forget you once he graduates -- what then are you doing feeling him up on a regular basis? that's not a particularly adult way to act. ok, you were conflicted, i buy that. but then maybe you should have developed the platonic side of your relationship first; that way you could also stop re-enacting your own experience. all of that coldness felt artificial, as if he was portrayed as cold in order to increase the drama for mio, and i resent that. i know, i know, it's BL -- but when a mangaka presents a story as realistic, i apply real life criteria to it, and i expect better logic from the mangaka. and i just didn't like how the teacher treated mio; it wasn't mature, and it wasn't caring. all the sweetness and light afterwards doesn't make up for putting that kid through so much pain.

Great realist storyline

It's nice to see some realist feeling of the relationship and the situation in a yaoi manga. I love the older sister, a great supporting character. You rarely get any great female character in yaoi mangas and when you do have female characters, they are mostly the love rivals.

It's quite sad to see it only one volume. Sometimes, I feel a bit squish, as if the author is trying to fit all the info in one volume, hence why I was thinking it should had been a 2 volume series. Other than that, recommended to the yaoi fans. =D

great story

That was a great manga. The art was fine too, clear and somehow cute, but what I enjoyed the best was definitely the plot: it was nice to see the real life concept, eg fear, uncertainity, possessiveness, and also telling the sister the truth. (She was a great character, by the way, protective and understanding toward her little brother, yet warning him about the problems and difficulties of same-sex affair)

At first I didn't really like the seme, but through the story he turned out to be quite ok. By the end of the manga, he was like a totally different person, and even though I found it strange first and was not sure about whether it was a good thing or not, I could understand the reason behind his change of characteristic, and overall, I was totally happy with the ending. The uke was really cute. biggrin

I definitely recommend it. ^^
