This was an alright read, but nothing in it really grabbed me. I found myself not really caring what happened with the characters - and, to be honest, not a whole lot DID happen with them. There was a plot and drama, sure... but it seemed like a whole lot of drama about a whole lot of nothing. I guess it all comes down to not really feeling engaged or invested in the outcome of all that drama.

it had much potential to be the dramatic, beautiful, tragic, historical love story that it is aiming to be but in the end but it just became bland and cheesy and a bit forcing it! True i was impressed by the fact that the mangaka put some of her own magic on the historical affair but yeah.. It just became quite wasted because it was so underdeveloped! Damn! It was so forced and the powers of Seto.. Ok there are alot of things or rather plotholes in there but i will leave him alone since i love him!btw.. The art is good so i will give points for that..

I really didn't like this story, and it has nothing to do with it being a tragedy. It just felt so silly. I didn't even feel sad It was just like.. Oh.. Okay. So what? For me that isn't a good sign. If a manga is well-constructed I will laugh, cry etc., but it just didn't work in this manga. The story was predictable (which bored me, SURPRISE), and the characters didn't develop in any significant way.

Art is average (if you're into the art, but I'm not), story is poor and the drama is naff. Am I being too hard? Haha.

This is a dark one, and I love dark ones. It isn't historically acurate, but that's why they call stuff like this "historical fiction". The author can change history to make the story go however they want. In other words, artistic license. Like I said, this story is dark, and the ending hits you like a brick. The artwork is great. This mangka is 1 of my favorites. I read everything i can get my hands on. I totally enjoyed this 1, and I do reccomend it. This isn't the author's best work, but it is a great read.

well, it was an alright manga. half the time i was wondering if the pages were in the wrong order since things seemed to have gone crazy. I didn't even see the prince get shot so i'm confused but w/e.

Considering it's length this is a decent manga, the art is mostly great though sometimes it goes a little wierd. A lot of the refrences I only understood because I studied The causes of WW1 and therefore the politics of Europe during the years preceeding the war in great detail at school. Not sure if this manga would be as enjoyable without the history lesson and as Mariachan said, if you want to know the ending all you need to do is open a history book (or wikipedia). Didn't exactly have me captivated but was a decent short manga and, demons aside, didn't deviate much from historical fact and I like the idea of playing on all the conspiracy theories surrounding the Mayerling incident. The only major flaws were the age of Prince Rudolf and the fact Prince Miguel Von Braganza had nothing to do with Marie Vetsera as far as I am aware but these flaws are easily overlooked.

An interesting twist to a rather gloomy story but its still worth reading...if only someone could finish scanlating the rest of it. Of all the historical romances the mangaka could have picked, this is a pretty depressing one.

this manga is really interesting and a fun read the main character really annoys me. the art as usual superb. recomended but the scanlation group left of on a major major cliffhanger. so if you want to know the ending crack open a history book T-T

im so sad this manga left off on a major cliff hanger...... but great read.
