Description
Official English: INKR, Azuki

The stage is set in the prestigious Private Joshi (girls) Oka High School, more commonly known as Joshi High. It became co-educational a few years ago, but females still heavily outnumber the males. So small is the number of men that it could be easily counted. While one would think guys would be pampered in such a harem school, the reality is far from heavenly. It is the world of female domination.

I won’t spoil anything but omg one thing in this series was just a little too over the line for me and that’s why I can’t rate it a 9. I really fell deep for the characters tho

8/10 if you ignore vol 10-12

The premise was interesting with how the guys were preyed upon by girls instead and did not glamorise sexual harassment as something acceptable either like in some shoujo manga I can name. Art is just gorgeous and Akamaru is one of the best looking guys around, and is a great guy on the inside as well. Characters were likable until vol.11 comes around and ugh. Munechika is imo the best character other than Akamaru and even that Fuwa sidekick girl.
Why oh why does the author shoot herself in the foot with such asspull and horrible deux ex machina tropes is beyond me.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the drugged and sex with dubious consent thing is retarded as hell. Out of character for Akamaru who was always shown as Rise's protector like so many times in like up to freaking vol.8 or so of the manga. I already knew she would end up with the first guy she sees but it didn't make sense for the author to change the MC's more important meetings with the guy to the second ML so soon and keep on doing it all the way until the stupid misunderstandings trope.
I usually dislike the whole forgotten childhood friends trope but with Akamaru they were already such a cute and super positive couple I could forgive it. I was scared when I realized there were still 2-3 more volumes left to the ending and boy I was right. The author had to make nonsensical drama happen and the strong MC deflates into an indecisive girl who bottles everything up inside and avoids it. She and Akamaru had a great thing going, they would understand each other and she was straightforward and him always looking out for her and they even had shared history so ... Wtf man. Why do you have to destroy a good thing. Azusa was always making her cry except for the end with his brainless acts even if out of good intention and his change came waaaay too late and unnecessary just for plot convenience. I got confused because Rise clearly liked Akamaru before suddenly becoming unsure again and this was after their relationship was going well...

Sighs...sometimes I really want to cry over how so many authors (shoujo and shounen alike) don't know how to end their romances and just stick to it to the death when they have written it to a corner or don't realize they already have a winner on their hands. And destroy any good character and relationship development just to stick to their original endings... Curse me for mostly liking the second MLs too. I'm going to pretend the manga ended at vol 9.

This here is a sh$t show. The main guy is a douche all around. His intentions are wrong, but then something happens and maybe now he'll grow up but naw. He does some other sh5t that brings him back to square one. His character is really annoying. The main lead from what I read which was like 8 chapters seemed better than the guy. She knew what she wanted and tried to get that.

Grrrrrr i've read tons of cliché shoujo mangas but none of them made me mad like this.
This manga is cliché, but not that cliché.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Actually it made me shocked with the -urgghhh-ing - ending- what a huge twist
Because of the male lead - or maybe the second male lead - Akamaru
just can't believe he is THE CHILDHOOD FRIEND. And then he is not the one who Okitsu end up with.

Mizutani is ohmm... ok, but he is just TOO weak, man.

But com'on who was the ARGGGHHH author?! She put a lot of romantic scenes for only one male in one volume, and then he would, like, disappear in the next volume. For example, that tanned Prince came out of nowhere and made me go AWNNNN for so hard and then just went away for no particular reason (I didn't read that carefully anw)

And of course, those bully stuff in school is cr*p and I skipped them :)

Moreover my little girl Okitsu... Why don't you try to be stronger a little bit
I want to see you not rely on the cool man with curly silver hair....

And what makes me feel so good about this is the JEALOUS scenes *smirk* smile
There are a lot of ones, for somebody who is looking for them .\\\\\\\\\.

I wanna have some positive vibe around here so I would give this a 9 ~
Overall real feelings rate:
Art: 8.5 (hot smile )
Story: 6.25
Characters: 8

PS: YES AKAMARU IS wayyyyyyyyy TOO HOT

How is the ending make any sense? It's pretty obvious who she will end up with but half way through the story derailed and you thought that you are getting into some twist, turned out the ending is what everyone expected it to be. I don't understand male lead. Female lead was strong at the beginning but fell into typical shoujo girl as the story progresses. I love the art a lot, Akamaru is eye candy <3

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I feel sorry for Akamaru. A little crazy in the head and overprotective but never try to hurt Kise intentionally. Whatever Mizutani can do, Akamaru can do better. It would make more sense if Akamaru's turn is at the beginning then goes to Mizutani because the author just broke the boy's heart at the end :(

It says that it's female dominance, but secretly it's not. With a school populated with girls, you'd think that the girls would take up the role of disciplinarians, student council members, and etc, but there's only one female character who takes up a high role (Student president). The female lead is enjoyable when she's scary, but she's literally one of those weak shoujo leads that depend on others to save her.
The male lead is a selfish d**khead who thinks that he can do whatever he wants to the female lead...
The only character I liked was the Student Council President because she was the REAL definition of a strong female. I actually wish this manga made the SCP the female lead but obviously that wouldn't happen...
What a waste of my time...

This is one of those one time read thing. You read it, and there is nothing really special about it. The story development is a bit bland. The characters are just weird. When the series first came out, I was relatively interested in the plot. I was young, and the guys look kinda hot. The main girl also seems to have something "special" about her. But then characters becomes off putting. The series is too much like a soap opera with a mix of the typical shoujo, prince-saving-the-girl-type of manga.

And don't even get me started on the ending. The mangaka made it pretty clear when she started of who the girl will end up with. But it just makes no sense!
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
If the mangaka wanted to have that guy to end up with the girl, why did she make him so repulsive? At first he was okay, but he is just so plain. Maybe that is why they are together? Because both of them are boring and useless.

Looking back at it now, I am glad I waited for it to finish before I started reading again. The ending makes me sad, and I disgusted because I have volume 8 on my bookshelves. That volume will be a forever reminder of this ending....

Wow, I'm kinda surprised a group picked up this series as it's been a few years since it was licensed. Anyways, art is so-so (reminds me of BL more than Shoujo) but some sections are funny due to expressions. My main problem is how the main love interest is a terrible character vs minor characters.

One of those series where you wonder wth the MC even likes him because has little to no redeeming features.

Ending is really not great and updated rating to reflect it =/

Although I sort of HATE how Azusa acts... He's so mysterious. Whenever no one is looking, he has a dark vibe and I want to know why!! He seems to have a falling out with his wealthy family. Blah blah blah. He's so spoiled and selfish! As of right now I hate him. But the mangaka obviously will put them together (saw the raws). Sigh.. I love Akamaru. Totally in love with him and I root for Rise x Akamaru. They definitely have a past together because she keeps claiming he looks familiar and he keeps protecting her. For once I really want the heroine to end up with the second guy.

Updated after a year..I skimmed through the raws for the second time and I just don't know why I keep coming back. Storyline isn't that great, drawings aren't that great...characters aren't that great. The ending wrapped up abruptly...don't read it unless you're looking for crazy angst -_-

Seriously...don't take it too seriously...(okay that came out weird but you get what I mean right?). The only saving grace is Akamaru because he freaking cares (and he's super hot stuff).
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Too bad he doesn't get a happy ending, because he deserves it.
