Why the high rating?

It's so shallow and bland.

And stop with the "taking the glasses off and I'm pretty/handsome" bullcrap. Glasses make your eyes larger and rounder. Wear them with pride, joy and beauty. #teamglasses

as a manga, this is pretty normal. the characters are not well-developed, the art is so so, and the plot is quite predictable. but towards the end we do get a bit heavy but nothing too emotional. probably in its original form this pack a punch, but as it is, theres tonne of other manga that can make you cry if you are aiming for that.

Wish I could watch the movie

All I can said, is bittersweet. Out of all of the manga I've read, this one will be remembered for awhile. From reading the description, I was mixed up on the genders/names (me being mixed with names is common though). The story is in the male's point of view, not something I was expecting. There are a few parts from Shizuru (which also gotten me lost since I thought it was from Makoto).

I knew this would be a tragedy, even that there would be death. I found this on Yahoo Answers under the name of dead-manga-things (not really), so I chose it and Boku No Hatsukoi Wo Kimi Ni Sasagu (which I haven't had the pleasure of reading yet). So I knew what I was getting myself into; but it had a greater impact than I thought it would have. The summary is more into the middle of the story, so I was waiting for that scene.

I feel so bad for Shizuru. In the beginning, she started off as...weird. She's has hidden meanings in her words. All I can say, she was greatly done overall. I wish there was more of her adult life instead of pictures.

As for that one girl. I do have a little dislike about her. Even though it was Shizuru's wishes, she should have draw them together sooner. That's all I can say bad about her. She seems to know that he likes Shizuru, which I like since she restrains herself (not really) by not going after him. The place I read from skipped a couple pages, or not?, so I really have much of a clue what began to develop between them....before the timeskip.

Oh, and I can't find the movie! *Whines* I really wanted to see it after seeing these comments. Guess I will go search now.

the ending vanishes all my hatred towards the guy.

As for the female lead,it was sad, knowing your own time is running low and having an unrequited love..

Normally I stay away from Genre's that say "Tragidy" because well it's sad and leaves a bitter taste and its just depressing BUT this manga was surprisingly different! I can't figure out what it is about the ending that made it so beautiful.. Maybe it was their relationship or maybe it's just the simplicity of it all. The love in this manga is so simple which made it just as fragile and precious and I'm so glad I read it! Brilliant love story.

It started okay but it was from the middle towards the end that things became good. The ending had me brimming with tears. It was perfectly executed. Overall, lovely story executed well in gorgeous art.

Sweet and sad T_T

Iam crying right now. The story is so touching. I admire the mangaka for being able to develop such a beautiful story in just one volume. Up until now, I hardly touched those 1-volume-mangas. I think one volume is too short to have a good story. I was wrong. All the characters are so good smile The story really touches the bottom of my heart <3
You must read this one, I'm pretty sure you will fall in love with it, just as I did <3

You know, when I read this manga, I never expected myself to actually enjoy it. I found it online and thought for a quick and easy read, but I was really touched by the slow development between the two characters and by how the story wasn't what I expected.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Can I say that I never expected the ending to be like that? Maybe I was tired the night I read this manga, but after reading hundred of mangas, I should have at least expected that Shizuru would be inflicted by the same disease as her mother and brother, but it never crossed my mind. The ending was so bittersweet, and I actually cried since it was so unanticipated for me. (When Makoto was in New York, and I saw the heels coming toward him, I was expecting Shizuru, but alas, I was wrong.) I forgot to read the tag for tragedy so I was caught by surprised when it showed Shizuru's exhibition at the end. I feel for Makoto, being that he finally understood his love for Shizuru, yet, it was taken away from him so quickly afterwards. And for Shizuru, who grew up for Makoto, only for it to not be long-lasting. The final kiss was so touching, and the picture made it even more so with Makoto and Shizuru's last words.

Read this manga for a taste of sadness and bittersweet love. Don't read it if you're expecting a happiness filled future since you'll be broody like me for at least an hour or so.

I don't really like this kind of story but Tada Kimi o Aishiteru is an exception. The story is so touching and bittersweet, the ending is unexpected. I really love the interaction between Makoto and Shizuru smile

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
And when Makoto went into her exhibition, seeing the picture of them kissing is really touching, I can feel his pain. "It's the only kiss, the only love I've ever knew.."

If you like melodrama series so this one is for you ^^
