Description
32-year-old Futaba Kiryu is a manga artist that writes for a weekly shounen magazine. Her latest ongoing manga is a romantic comedy, "Bocchi no Ore kara Riaju no Omaera ni Ittoku" (A Loner Like Me's Got a Lot to Say about You Normies out There) or "Bottoku" for short. How will Futaba fare in this love triangle when her knowledge of romance is next to nothing?

At times, the manga can seem a little heavy with the SJW stuff but really, it's refreshing to see a manga tackle issues like asexuality, sexism, and discrimination. I'm so used to reading about it and learning the deeper roots that to read material that is touching the broader subjects sometimes makes me feel bored, but to each her own.
Because the heroine is a 30 year old, you skip a lot of the overused tropes of a high schooler. Not to say there aren't the typical shojo moments. I'm rooting for the older dude because he seems more interesting and upfront despite having a calculating personality and nickname "Strategist". The younger kid is dark and intense but introverted so I know next to nothing about his personality.
Adding it to my Reading List but if it never updates again, I won't worry about it.

I read the first couple pages of this manga a few times in the past and immediately got turned off by the shallowness of the story and the art style. Little did I know that those pages were actually the manga the main character of the ACTUAL story had been writing!
I finally gave the manga a chance and I love it! The artist really gives a balance between the maturity of the characters and the issues they face, with the sweet, heartwarming (and sometimes hilarious) moments of a woman who is clueless about love!
I highly recommend romance readers to pick this up, I'm assuming that the low ratings were from readers who, like myself, only read the first few pages. I can't wait for more releases!
