I would recommend this manga only to pass time and if you are too lazy to use the advanced search option and find something better to read.
The idea is very cool,
Spoiler (highlight to view)
a virus developed from combining Ebola and smallpox in the cold war days and now a crazy maniac occult group of terrorist want to spread it over Japan and to save the world comes a hacker kid(dumb ass idea) but with the help of a special agency that works for the safety of the people, a somewhat secret agency...

The idea is super awesome, but the way it was executed in this manga is well ,very unsatisfying, basically the full potential of the idea wasn't used or executed.
The situation in Japan in the manga is very absurd, the bad guys are portrayed as if they are super soldiers that could blow the world up if they wanted, which i think is too much, and yet they are beaten by a dumb/genius kid that can use the computer. Also the special agency that is under direct orders from the ministry of justice is just simply pathetic and so majestically stupid, the whole agency is just a big jest. The bad guys os easily beat them, the supposedly alpha good guys and yet those awesome bad guys are struck down by a kid...*sigh*

I also hate the fact how every second and third chapter somebody dies and no one really gives a dime.. and more importantly the deaths contribution to the plot is almost non existent.
It's as if you get the feeling that the author simply wanted to kill off some people and show everyone that no one cares.

It's simply a pile of good ideas/plot executed in a very bad way, with good art and much effort , and yet it still stays a manga that can just help pass the time and nothing more.(Please don't compare Death Note to this work because the gap between them is too immense)

If you're in this for the characters, turn away now. Bloody Monday has absolutely flat characters. Its truly a case of the characters existing to serve the plot and not the other way around. However, the plot itself justifies the lack of indepth characterization - it isn't necessary. There are no filler or breather chapters. There is no "beach episode" or "field trip day". From start to finish, Bloody Monday plays out like a Dan Brown novel - plot twists, betrayals and surprises at every turn. Every time "Falcon" and his friends thwart one of the enemy's plans, they immediately get caught up in another one. The entire manga is a thriller roller coaster that never lets up. I haven't seen the live action adaption myself, but I highly suspect that its gonna draw more than a few comparisons to 24.

Well, personally, i think this manga is terrific! I can't hold myself to read this until the end. I'm a bit disappointed about the end of story, or about identity of K. But still, i think this is a very good manga. ^o^.

The most inept secret agency in the world

The author simply can't create situations where intelligent characters can function. Scenarios that are suppose to be suspenseful are undermined by sheer incompetence. Stories don't have to be realistic, but you can't constantly shatter a reader's suspense of disbelief by claiming that these are the smartest people in Japan while having them repeatedly make stupid mistakes. I certainly would not have finished this manga if it's weren't for the speed and quality of J.A.C.

I did not tend to give a comment here but since there are so many negative comment, and I feel like that manga deserves better than taht.

Having the same type as DN, It's true that this manga is far from reaching the level of Death note but the plot is still good enough to make it unpredictable. Personally, I prefer this manga because it has less psychological and more reality.

The art, of course, is really good.

It started with a very nice character settings but it's become the biggest fail in this manga. The character development is really poor, the non-stop action took too much space in the manga make it become very dense read. And in the end there is no character make you interested in. Hope they can fix that problem in season 2.

Even though It's under the level of an epic manga like DN but still stand on top, this kind of manga is not something like a romance shoujo that you can find a plenty of similar ones (DN, Liar and what else?), so it's a worth read.

Everytime I decide to finish this manga, I go through about 5 chapters before facepalming and wanting to smash something because of how retarded this manga is. There are just so many flaws with how things happen that it makes you literally go wtf? These guys have had atleast 4 chances to kill or injure (im up to chapter 39) the masterminds/villains of the manga. In all seriousness, its fucking retarded that they try to capture these terrorists without harming them. what the fuck? Why not just shoot them in the arms or legs to disable their movements instead of pointing the gun and allowing them to finish their sentence of "I BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING" and even then they dont shoot but act surprised and allow them to escape, the fuck? what type of terrible fucking "trained" people are this fucking bad at their job? the mangaka is obviously way too fucking naive and its blatantly clear in this manga.

This manga has many flaw. First I agree Main lead is super genious hacker. But he is just a hacker not a specialist.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I agree he can hack into traffic signal domain but that is not mean he can change traffic signal as he want. I don't think he can change traffic signal at the crossroad he wants. Every crossroad has their code therefore he can't know which crossroad signal he wants to change. Yes, there is always a list for all code in domain but I doubt he can search it and understand it with a short time

another knowledge error is:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
In final volume, He hacked into GPS system, but he doesn 't have knowledge about GPS system. Pentagon did not control GPS satellite, but GPS stations placed all over the world. Maybe there is a list of GPS stations in Pentagon, but again he don't have enough time to understand the formular of GPS system. Every satellite has their formula movement and they transmit it to GPS machine. GPS machine use that formula to calculate coordinate. GPS station control GPS satellite by that formula. Therefore he had to hack into GPS station to change that formula, not Pentagon. 1 more thing the satellite float on Moscow is not the one float on Tokyo. Therefore he had to hack into 2 GPS station, 1 Moscow for obtaining the formula of Moscow satellite and 1 Tokyo for changing its formula with Moscow's formula. What a lot of works, I doubt he can do all of works in short time

Seriously...

People should really stop using Death Note and Bloody Monday in the same sentence; it's just plain blasphemy, this manga will never reach the epicness of Death Note.

The manga actually had a decent start to it; it had me hooked with the first chapter, but then it gets steadily worse from there on. The plot gets increasingly repetitive as the series goes on, and each instance of "hacking-to-save-the-day" gets more and more ridiculous and stupid, to the point where it's just not believable anymore.

The character's don't really get any development at all; it just ends up being a big "good guys vs. bad guys" theme that drives everyone's actions. And I agree with all the people who say Fujimaru going from genius to retard in 0 seconds flat is pretty awful. And actually, in chapter 53, when he says "The internet can teach you anything!" had me so disgusted with it's cliche-ness and childishness that it made me facepalm so hard and almost drop the manga because of it.

I guess if you're just starting out with shounen manga this would actually be a good start, but for veteran manga readers, stay as far away as possible from this one.

5/10 for having a decent start.

I wasn't the type of reader who was interested in robot gadgets, especially those computer hackers. But this one was different; the story, though it revolves around how good he is as a hacker, doesn't focus only on this fact.

I think the "hawk eyes" was a very odd element to add to this artwork though. It has no function other than to make the protagonist look "cool". I mean, was this really necessary? Unless he's flying above oceans trying to catch his prey, I don't think this is a necessary element.
