I have to be honest and say I understood maybe 20% of the plot. The dialogue was confusing af and maybe some things were lost in translation. In any case, I love the atmosphere of the story, and the artwork. The characters were great too, very interesting and charming with a devil-may-care outlook on life. The smut was hot.
The dialogue is so so, the story is confusing, and I don’t understand why the main characters just did it with each other without explanation or reason. Nonetheless, they are HOT together, and I love the sex scenes.

I like the dynamic and chemistry between the main characters so the confusing yakuza stuff didn't bother me too much. I feel like I would've loved to see more emotional exploration but for a story of this nature maybe this level is fine too. The smut is good but that's a given with the mangaka anyway. I also love her style of drawing chibis; they're so cute and funny.
I agree that this felt rushed. However, I think it’s because the last two chapters are labelled as extra chapters, but I think they are actually integral to the story (albeit how rushed they were).

I really enjoyed the premise and character setup in this story, it was really interesting and you could see the tension between the characters very clearly. In order to keep the story to one volume, however, the story began hurtling at a lightning fast pace in order to tie up the loose ends. I feel like simplifying the plot so the characters could have their conflicts resolved was too easy and ruins the initial intrigue a bit.

This manga has a good underlying story, but I wish it was told and paced better. It started off with an interesting premise and characters. But as the story very quickly progressed, I found it difficult to keep track of what exactly was happening. The author would only give the reader snippets here and there, and it was like putting together pieces of a puzzle but in a disjointed, disoriented kind of way. This is mostly because of the flashbacks and how they're just beating around the bush the whole time. The speech bubbles don’t help distinguish who is speaking either. Then all too soon it was hurtling to the end.
It was an interesting story, especially after reading it again and another reader's summary, but I would have preferred if it wasn’t paced as quickly to allow the reader to comprehend and absorb everything that was happening.

In high school Shimojou tells Kuze, "Let me take you away from this shitty boring world.” Then as adults Shimojou references that by saying “…you still feel like staying in this shitty, boring world?” and Kuze replies “I want to be your equal.” These three lines are basically the summary of the story itself, but you have to read in between the lines. Shimojou thinks living a normal life is boring, which is why he joined the Yamamoto yakuza and became “bad." And that since Kuze is a cop, he is still normal and “good." Kuze becomes Shimojou’s equal by doing a bad deed and not turning Shimojou into the authorities.
Then it skips to Shimojou saying he’ll quit the life of being bad. But why? The reader is left to piece together that the reason he’s leaving is because they have finally became equals and that after such a long chase, he’s no longer bored with Kuze around. The only reason Shimojou joined the Yamamoto yakuza in the first place was so that Kuze could find and chase after him, because it was the Yamamoto yakuza that brought Kuze’s family down. So actually, Shimojou and Kuze were after the same goal: bringing down the Yamamoto yakuza.

The whole chase was an allusion to foreplay and the sex an allusion to them finally being equal. Basically, I wish the “foreplay" was longer.
