Description
Kamio Shuuji, the heir to a rich organization, has just transferred to Hazuki's average public high school. When Kamio catches Hazuki's eye with an intense gaze Hazuki begins to wonder over his attentions. Especially when Akira, his lover, warns him to stay away from him. He intends to do just that, that is until Kamio claims to have fallen in love at first sight with Hazuki, giving him a kiss to seal the deal. But what exactly are Kamio's intentions? And why has Akira warned him against the heir in the first place?

| Rocky start with some good points by RayeSesshyFan on January 14th, 2010, 5:27pm |

It seemed to take off roughly for me but it soon got better when everything unfolded. Compared to what I've read, Hazuki isn't weak-willed nor spoiled at all. He actually responds like someone should when events he goes through that happen to him and not some spoiled guy who gets everything and isn't a naive idiot who can't decide something for his own (I for one can't stand those types of characters the most). He's quite smart in his own way and mature too.
If you're willing to let something take a breath and give it a chance, then this is one of those. It may seem iffy but it had two very important points. It just had a odd way to deliver them that may put some people off.

Koi to Uso to Pride to (What a title...) was my first experience with Kisaragi Seika. Whereas I'd normally have previous works to compare to, I only have this one to look at. It was all so predictable and the order of the storyline was so askew it left me wondering whether the author had accidentally missed a few pages at a time. And the ending ... oh my god, the ending ... (You'll have to read it to see what I mean). The art is at times detailed and attractive, but most of the time it seems too square in shape and without very little attention to background. That being said, I still enjoyed this series to a certain extent. Akira, the host, is an attractive character as is Kamio, the young master. Hazuki is a little disappointing. Although I've never been particularly fond of spoilt, weak-willed uke's. In the end, I can't really say whether this work is as unsuccessful as it is because of the mangaka's inexperience, but I'd have to assume it plays some part if it is the case. Koi to Uso to Pride to is okay for a quick read.
