it took a lot to like these stories

lol it's like this mangaka is insisting on these characters being redeemable...but with only 3 chapters barely any work is done. i found myself saying "at least" a lot, like "AT LEAST this guy finally made ONE compromise" and "AT LEAST this guy finally found some confidence and wants his bf to be happy". im not satisfied with the bare minimum tho, sensei! make them make actual progress!

the first story is a bit forgivable since the uke character's biggest flaw is that he's unbelievably selfish, and the one compromise is at least a start. they spoil each other in a way. it's not ideal, but at least it's not harmful (there's that "at least" again jesus)

the second story was a piece of work. im glad the seme didn't flat out rape the uke (unfortunately i was expecting that), however that's such a low bar. if you're going to show progress in the relationship don't make the improvement circumstantial. the character have to change out of love for one another, not just a change in atmosphere or positions. the change fell flat for me and i felt annoyed. the uke annoyed me too since he was enabling all the behavior, doesn't he want his bf to become more confident and emotionally stable? ugh i cant.

Completely Different Stories

I don't get why these stories are lumped together. Bukiyou na Bokura no Sukima is actually a cutesy generic yaoi worth reading to kill time if nothing else.

And then we have Sweet Crazy Days, with an overly possessive seme and an enabling uke. This is a common enough trope in yaoi for me to be mostly numb to it, but in this story it was causing red flags for abuse to go up in my head.

Seme isolates uke? Check. Seme threatens uke to quit his job or they'll break up? Check. Seme manipulates uke with threats of self-harm? Check.

If these stories were seperated I would have rated it much higher.

Cringe

In all honesty, the seme was cringe worthy. He reminded be of an abusive, controlling boyfriend that does not know the difference between being protective and being a huge asshole. Alright, I get that the author was trying to depict the whole possessive seme equals love thing. However, being possessive does NOT equal love and I hate when mangaka's portray that in their stories like it's something normal in a relationship? Not okay.

Overall, the manga was average. I would've liked if it was longer though, would've added to my rating.

I didn't hate what I read, mostly because I like the art and chibis so much. The stories on the other hand are a bit more disoriented, but nothing too glaring imo and still readable for the most part. There just isn't anything very memorable though.

Bukiyou na Bokura no Sukima- super cute high school romance with wonderful art

Sweet Crazy Days - Ugh I really hate the overbearing jealous type, it ruined what could be a really nice story. It's not too bad, I just couldn't get my heart into the story.

Felt very "realistic", and not in a good way.

Like, one of the guys from the first couple felt like one of those huge jerks that you see in real life. And for some reason you're supposed to like him? He's really awful, completely unlikable. Plus when the sex scenes come his personality shifts and he gets all soft, for no good reason. He even cries, I don't understand why, since he's supposedly such a badass. The other guy isn't exactly the nicest guy out there either.

Now the second couple makes the first one look good. One of the guys is possessive, jealous, manipulative, and passive-aggressive on top of everything. He's completely insecure and instead translates that into being possessive and manipulative. Maybe part of it is unconscious, but it's still so unpleasant to read. They give you no reason to even like the guy. All you see if how his boyfriend has to do things to not make him upset because he feels sorry for him. In the end he gains confidence and tries to change, but barely makes it. Really awful overall, don't think I'll bother with this author ever again. Only redeeming feature was the art.

First story: Their lovey-dovey relationship is cute, the fact they started as best friends having unrequited love for each other made me expect something more.
However, there were some details that irritated me so much. For instance,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the fact that they had sex with so many girls and the uke stole women from the seme. I understand that he’s possessive but to the point of doing that is a bit pathetic, why did the seme wasn’t annoyed at all!? And just when I started to like the seme for being so infatuated, he said he did things with a guy before! Wait... what? Just how easy-going is he? He didn’t even try confessing to his best friend despite having done things like kissing and touching another guy? That detail got me so frustrated up until the end.

Second story: I’m not a fan of ‘flashy supporting character trying to get attention’ and the seme was overly possessive, but their fluffy moments were good, especially in the last chapter.

All in all, it wasn’t as good as I expected but the art is really eye-catching.
