Description
From TJo:
TJO's 8th manga is Suzuki Noritaka's Shikotama, a comedy involving demons and more demons and uh, a little bit of snowboarding.

The sexy demon Mako has been sent from the demon world with an ultimatum mission from her father: bring him the "Supreme Soul," or else! However, getting the "supreme soul" proves to be a lot more problematic than Mako ever imagined as her friends fight back and a group of rival demons show up...

The artwork is crisp and cute, but the story seems to be lacking spunk and momentum.

This manga doesn't have a very complicated story, but it's skillfully drawn and has a cute and cartoony and quite dynamic style. It's rather lewd in tone, but nothing too out there. I would recommend it, given how it's also short.

There's just something lacking about this manga. The artwork is quite nice, the setup is decent, the characters are okay, but... overall it just isn't very interesting and never gets beyond the "oh, hm, I guess that's a little bit humorous" level of funny. Actually, it's kind of odd, because I can't put my finger on just what is wrong. Sure, the humor is lacking at best and that's kind of unacceptable for a gag comedy manga, but I feel the mangaka still could've pulled it off, if only he had some other substance to fill in the vacuousness. To put it simply, this really should have been an interesting, enjoyable manga when you look at the basic aspects of it, but there's just something about it that makes the whole thing dull and disappointing.
I dropped the manga about half way through... maybe I'll finish it off someday if I've nothing better to do. I guess it didn't help that I thought the cover art was so good that I had high expectations. Anyway, I can only recommend it very lightly, and only to someone who is kind of bored and who has lower expectations than I had.

There's not a single dull page in this manga. There's no real storyline -- more of an "adventure of the day" thing. But I don't that this is a problem when you're reading a one-volume "anything goes" gag manga.
The main attraction here are:
-The quirky art style and character designs (from demonically-sexy to burst-your-gut funny)
-The totally zany ADHD-ridden, but absolutely lovable cast
-The head of the Top-secret Monkey Island Space Research Facility, you'll know what I'm talking about when you see him.
