Description
From Kodansha:
How did the cynical Uramichi end up hosting a TV show for small children? And how long is the studio going to let him keep teaching the kids the sorrow and exhaustion of life instead of, say, the ABCs? This dark comedy manga started as a webcomic and became a bestseller across Japan.

...in a sort of depressing kind of way, but also (amazingly enough) not really mean-spirited at all.

My worry with these kinds of "depressing #tooreal adult comedies" is that they often devolve into mean jabs, not only at adults but also at children. This manga, thankfully, does not do that. Despite absolutely hating his job, Uramichi actually genuinely does seem to like the kids, and his words are often self-deprecating advice, which the kids actually take in stride. (And some of these kids are just as harsh, let me tell you.)

It's also just a genuinely witty manga, both in content and execution. Very "adult" without being needlessly vulgar or mean.

Truly what it means to be an adult

There's not a single page where I don't relate to the MC and the side characters. We're all used to manga which tends to spin stories into a positive light but this is a realistic take for what it means to be a adult in modern society. The MC has a less than wonderful job and is feeling like he's stuck in rut in life and how he copes with his depression at work. There's no overarching story and all the ch are self-contained other than the same setting. So far I find the comedy to be sharp and funny which is somewhat rare in most comedy manga series. I look forward to any future works by the manga-ka too.
