shallow

I like the stories, but in my opinion most of the relationships seem shallow. I feel it was just tossed together for what was convenient without any real build to it(if that makes sense). Maybe it was because there were so many couples but the series need to focus better on the individual relationships without the typical guy awkwardness.

100% better than ichigo 100%

As alwys wreat girl drawing, excelent fan service.

This surely has a better story than ichigo 100%, great thing that the story dosent focus on a single boy with lots of girls, but a lots of boys with a lots of girls with lots of point of views girls-boys viceversa mixed up in relations pointing every where XD.

If u liked ichigo 100% (i did not like the ending ¬¬) u surerly will like this story and speciallly the girls *¬*

Yes the story dosent gives a great ending to some relaitons but is better than a long story with nothing to tell, i like it how it is short and joucy stories like this ones

Lots of fun parts,

If you like Ichigo 100% or other manga of KAWASHITA Mizuki give it a try. Just enjoy some very well draw, lovely chapter and dont care about storyline, character... (most things to make a manga lol =.=)
Take it more seriously you will be disapointed.

P.S: Dont judge this manga because it has so many character. If you read salad day, school rumble, you will get it. It's just a series of different romance, comedy storys. Each chapter is about a couple.
It's better that characters is a bit related than change to whole new place after each chapter (it will be become a lot of oneshoot). Dont take it as a bad point!!!

terrible storytelling

i just give it a 3 for the art, the story format is terrible and it's better off a harem series, it might have lasted longer and for those who compare this to School Rumble, it's pale in comparison due to the fact that there's hardly comedy and it doesnt focus much on one main guy but i do agree that some of the setup does have similarity

I decided to throw in my opinion since I saw some really odd reviews.

The main characters switches for each story but it switches within a core group of people. So you see most of the characters in each story, and its easy to tell who's who.

Also, that whole "its shonen and the guy has to put no effort" thing is complete crap. One whole story focuses on one guy realizing he has to improve and put effort to get the girl he likes(who doesn't like him back within the story, its just a goal).

So non of the characters really get it easy except one who has a pretty fickle relationship, and thus its not easy for him at all. He's aware he's odd looking, and the morale is one of those times that a relationship just happens(the whole you can't help who you love).

This is a well known romance manga. And things aren't easy for any of the characters. Many don't get what they want. A lot like salad days, this is more about a moral or lesson for the character to learn. But I think its easier to keep track of the characters since their stories are more interconnected. In my opinion, its an more enjoyable read than salad days(and more optimistic).

Too many characters and crisscrossing in relationships. The male characters aren't very charming either. I mean, if they don't look good at least make it up in personality or something. (Most of the male characters fail both.)

Anyway, I guess I had too-high expectations after reading Ichigo 100%. But the art, as always, is beautiful.

IT was ok, like i think there were to many main characters i think, im glad for the outcome of the kappa dude. all and all it was ok. i wouldnt rush to read it if i was you but its deffinately better than some shounen manga ive read i give it a 6.5, it would of gotten higher if there were less main characters

the description is a bit wrong tho, she does get confessed by a big scary dude but she isnt intrigued at all.

Hit and miss characters

I won't compare this to Ichigo 100% since I haven't read it, but I recently finished School Rumble. Hatsukoi Gentei is everything that series should have been, though certainly not perfect..

Hatsukoi Gentei features a large, varied cast, which is perfectly fine if executed correctly. What this manga has going for it is that while it features a large cast like School Rumble, Hatsukoi manages to avoid letting its good characters fade into obscurity (because it's so short), giving most of them an interesting storyline and personality. Obviously there are lot of tropes and predictable stereotypes like the Loser/HotChick pairing, but that's to be expected from this type of manga.

At the same time, short length of Hatsukoi really hurts it where it could have succeeded. Great characters such as Yamamoto Misaki have to suddenly be pushed aside to cram in the plot for less significant ones such as that glasses guy who liked Chikura. I would have really liked to see this series flesh out the story of those deeper characters instead of trying too hard to tie up every last loose end.

Oh, Kawashita Mizuki's art style is everything I've heard it is. Looking forward to reading her other work.

I decided to read this, since I loved Ichigo 100% and Lilim Kiss wasn't bad either. The art is the most beautiful I've seen, It just blows me away every time. I've heard some complaints about it being very confusing and having too many characters. True. For a manga this short it had a bit too many. Although as I finished it I thought I had already gotten to know all the characters quite well, and that is why I was a bit disappointed that it ended already at chapter 32. It was quite enjoyable, since I first read about 20 chapters and then started over again after a few months break, you started to recognize all the characters. I believe this could have turned to be a very good manga given enough time to build and get to know all the characters, still an enjoyable read.
Not Kawashitas best work, however if it is true that it was just to get back into business I can only wait to read her next real project.

(mostly the same comments as iamssjvash)
