Description
The guys in school say that Nikawa is like a Japanese doll: so fragile that no one dares to approach her. Meanwhile, Nikawa's friends talk about how scary Mashima's stare was when one bumped into him; all the girls in school are scared of Mashima due to his looks. One early morning, by coincidence, Mashima finds Nikawa by herself hungrily eating beef rice! Nikawa also finds that Mashima isn't such a cold person after all. The two discover that rumors are not always true and Mashima begins eating breakfast with Nikawa every morning. As they become closer, rumors suddenly start spreading afte...

Well, the story is something that I can actually accept with logic compared with the usual shoujo and it actually just fine as it is. Rumors are rumors. When it ends, the story ends. That's it.
really, though, why didn't it become a full volume manga, there's a continuation you know, well that's what i feel abt it, i just like these peaceful, calm mangas sometimes, makes the heart relax? haha. i like Nikawa, she cool girl man~
I liked this. It was short and not at all romantic, but it had an airy feel to it. Very simplistic and not at all fussy. It went to prove a point, got there, the END.

The art's not quite Matsumoto Tomo's usual style, but the story feels quite typical of her work - cute, with a soft, everyday kind of feeling (ok... I don't know how to explain it... it leans toward the 'bland' rather than the sensational...). The plot is driven along by rumours and one coincidental meeting... that's probably enough information for most to guess the general gist of the story, except, and I repeat, it's in Matsumoto's signature style.
why does it have to be more than it is? maybe it should be a josei, but i think it shows human interaction and emotion more realistically and sweetly than most of your run-of-the-mill shoujo. the relationship between the two is simple, the reason for conflict is simple and the resolution is just as simple. anything more would have been overblown. it's certainly not the waste of air other, more silly heroine and plots of shojo can be. it shouldn't be categorized with those.
it's probably an 8.4, but i want others to read this one.

I like this oneshot, but I think it's misunderstood because there wasn't this big dramatic confession that a person usually looks for in a romantic story.
"Rumors" is a simple oneshot about a guy and a girl who meet each other in school by coincidence and started becoming closer to each other through continuous meetings. As they meet, they discover that the harsh rumors said about each other aren't true at all. Rumors are also the reason why their slowly budding relationship almost got shattered.
Overall, I thought the concept was really cute and original, but a little low in the "excitement you get from romantic moments" scale.

Well.. It's just like the description says, they eat breakfast together, and rumors starts spreading. Somewhat plain, but it's "ok". Somewhat odd ending...
definately not the best of matsumoto since like most of you I was really confused on what the manga meant. I tried to see it in a figurative way, but it's still not understanding.
this manga sucks. sorry to be so blunt but seriously.. its not worth ur time.

Its basically a girl eating den a guy see's her and starts eating with her den ppl start talking tht der going out and so they avoid each other den a few chapters later its an assembly and she passes him a note saying smthing about eating 2gether and den they talk about what food der gonna eat and den his last words wer smthin lyk "its just easy to talk to you". thts the whole story -.-.
