it was actually really good and i enjoyed it
the characters were awesome. i really liked how the relationship between the two characters progressed.
but what really dissapointed was the ending...i felt it was so rushed and it was just another crappy ending to a good story.

This series was very good and entertaining. It was like everything that you, the reader, was rooting for actually happened and didn't take a painfully long time to do so. Yeah, there are some bad things, but it is still a must read, because the good overrides the bad.
The series ended and I have that feeling that there's so much missing... unsettled to tell the truth... as if this series had to end abruptly... The ending wasn't convincing at all, which makes me fell mad about it. Although the main plot isn't quite original, I started to like the main couple... but "DUH!" Their relationship wasn't well developed at all! ...and what about the story with the sensei? No comments... and since when Takabayashi wanted so much to become an actress? At least if the secrets about her childhood could've been better explored... it would make the plot better and gives us that feeling that it was fate, they were meant to be.
I'm not trying to be harsh here but... this was a series that had everything to become............... but never became!
Nah! It was quite entertaining since I sprained my foot and I have to stay home for a week... at least I forgot the pain for a while.
At least, thanks to Molenir comparing the awesome Skip Beat! to Never Give Up! made me feel curious about it and now I think I'll give it a try... ^__^'

I always have a problem with blackmail, and the way this series starts, and goes for so long, with the main character being blackmailed by the guy, really bothers me. It takes what otherwise would be a great story, on par with Never Give Up, and Skip Beat, and turns it into a story that has to work to even come close.
The start was fairly interesting and the characters weren't too shoddy. Even though the premise was rather cliched, I still didn't mind reading the manga for the plot development, character interactions and even the tension between the main and supporting cast. The jokes were kinda all right(a mixture of funny and duh) and it sure was funny seeing the way Hikaru behaved at the beginning of the story.
However, I was a little disappointed.

Not only was the Hikaru's and the teacher's romance cut short abruptly without any warning whatsoever, there was little tension when they were briefly reunited. Too much "staring at one another's face" and not enough words/narration(whichever does the job).
Also, the ending was a let down. Well, I hadn't expected anything innovative but it was too abrupt and not very satisfactory. Not once had Izumi ever mentioned wanting to study architecture and it was a huge letdown given how much the kid had invested in hospital fees, only to let his father die on him. Plus, the endings for the side cast(the Kazu something guy and his companion) and the others weren't satisfying either.

wow.. this manga is so good. I saw the comments and ratings on this manga and so i saved it in my manga list for last (yeno, save the best for last). I downloaded it and when i read the first chapter i was lyk.. mm.drawings are good but it's kinda weird so i was kinda hesitant to keep reading but i gave it a shot anyway and OMG THIS MANGA WAS GOOD! I LOVEED THE ENDING!!!

Well I admit that the first few chapters bored the hell out of me, it seemed that Hikaru seems to have no backbone of her own and willing to do anything just to get out of the spotlight.
But I'm glad I kept up reading this because in the later volumes, especially where the real romance starts between our main protagonist and the guys in her life, the manga becomes more interesting than what it first seemed.

Tenshi ja Nai!! was a nice read, and I loved the main female character - she had a mind of her own!!!! - but it wasn't amazing. I wouldn't buy it, at least. It's got a pretty cliched plot that I've seen before, and it's just not that fantastic. Worth reading, though, just not more than once.
This story was great except for one part which is probably my personal opinion.....i like the main male leads to be MANLY(hehe), by that i mean to have a role in which it can allow for the heroine to act girly at times.
