It started strong, but...

Yea, a little like NANA or at least a very condensed version without the depth or quality. Its just too rushed and the story isn't filled out enough. I would liked to have seen the relationships develop especially the one with Shion. The dialogue is weak, and the art could use a little help in the fights. However, I really liked the idea and the relationship between a female fighter and a girly-girl could have been really great. I think it had the potential to appeal to a large range of readers (sports, action, romance, drama, etc), if it was just a little better. I did like the very end of the fight. I thought that was gutsy on the writers part with how the fight ended. So, it started strong, got a little weak in the middle and finished ok for me. 2-3 more volumes of fleshing out the relationships would have made a big difference imho.

The ending...

Like other people have already said, this series is kind of similar to Nana. While Nana has more dramas, this manga is focus on sports and friendship. Well uh, I really must admit that the reason I kept reading this series was because of Tora. He's so freakin HAAWWT. Omg. \(>____<)/
I know Gaku is also cuute, and he's a nice guy buuuut.. Tora... Uh. You can call me stupid for falling for this kind of jerk but I honestly think he actually had feelings for Mayu. He was serious. It's just..
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
seriously, what kind of celebrity would want to have a child with his lover? Even an ordinary guy wouldn't do that. They only knew each other for such a long time and she already asked for a child? That just didn't make sense. Even if she just did that to know his true feelings but asking for a child was really too much.
um, as in Nana, I also fell for Takumi, the famous guy, -blushes- He's a sweetheart. <3

I really wish this story had had a better ending. I feel like the way the story ended just wasn't enough. It lacked something.. I don't know if I should recommend you guys this story. Personally, I don't like it since I only read it because of Tora. Lol. Well, this is something I wouldn't like to read it again.

I give this series a 6, only for Tora and a few lovely moments in this manga.

Great mix of Fashion and Action! I absolutely love fashion and thats one of the reasons why i enjoyed this, I have always wanted to be a fashion designer or stylist and i still do, even at the age of 12-years-old i have made over 40 designs, but thats not the main point.
back to the topic- I dont usually have an interest in action or sport manga but this was AMAZING!!!!
I just loved it, and i recommend u guys to read it 2!

In a way i can totally understand those who wished for an extra volume to tie everything together. Yet i thought the way it ended was very realistic under the circumstances. Not everything is tied in neat little bows, but with new determination it can certainly be accomplished some day.

I love this manga.
It's been so long since I've read it, but I still remember I was really happy reading it ^^!
It's so touching, and even though some might say it'd be a "bore" to read something about friendship, it really is sweet.
I love all of the events that occur, and how Mayu and Yuka cheer each other up (and get on each others nerves x3)

So , yes.
This is WAY more than a time filler manga.
It has meaning!
Read it, if you want c:!
If you're not sure ..

I COMMAND YOU TO READ IT.

This reminds me so much of NANA. Two girls living together, striving for dreams, Hardcore girl with a rocky relationship and a serious guy who is interested in her. And a goofy guy who likes the other girl but she likes the famous guy. Waaaahhhhhh, so many similarities, But I still love it! =)

So far, it's a really sweet and great shoujo. None of the whole weak girl, strong guy. In fact, the characters are pretty head strong! I'd totally recommend this sweet little story. smile

I personally love this series. I really don't know why, but so far it's really good. I love how Yuka explains to her lover about their dreams. Yuka is my fav so far, she's headstrong and works hard to accomplish her goal of being a professional female free-fight star! I can't wait to read more!!!! >____<
