Gon might be a country boy, but he has high aspirations. Despite his Aunt Mito's protests, Gon decides to follow in his father's footsteps and become a legendary Hunter. The Hunter hopefuls begin their journey by storm-tossed ship, where Gon meets Leorio and Kurapika, the only other applicants who aren't devastated by bouts of seasickness.
Having survived the terrors of the high seas, Gon and his companions now have to prove their worth in a variety of tests in order to find the elusive Exam Hall. And once they get there, will they ever leave alive?

This manga is already a classic. It really amaze that so few people know about it...
Although the quality of the art might be inconsistent(most chapters are on tankōbon by now anyway ^^), the unpredictability and topnotch storytelling are always a constant. Also the battle system is probably the most versatile and realist(on its own way) ever made.
I think this is a shounen that seinen fanatics will love(don't let the cute character deceive you). Just be patient with the firsts chapters and it would be a matter of time to get hooked.

Umm, yes, it is a shounen manga like dragonball, but hunter x hunter is by far in a league in its own. First of all, the energy mechanism is much more complex and explained in detail than db, and stories/dialogs are much more complex. Its more than bad guys take over the world and we have to save it (well, the latest arc is more of that type but still), nor train-get stronger to beat bad guys-repeated over and over.

i like this manga... altough suddenly it just stopped... but the last chapter was 260... but as of today i saw a manga chapter 261 although it is still raw.... ive'd been waiting for that forever and now its finally out... THANK GOD
This is the BEST manga I ever read,, it beats any other title. I personally loves that duo, Gon and Killua 
and how the character develop, the strength and everything... I just love HxH sooo much!! And I can't wait for ch 261!!! Thanks for the great news,, it will be wonderful if this series continues ^.^

ANNOUNCEMENT! As of today August 10, 2007 Togashi is SAID to be returning soon to the magazine. Sources and dates aren't 100% reliable and even I risk raising hopes for nothing, but...I just couldn't keep my mouth shut =X
To all the loyal fans who kept waiting...this is the moment! or at least I dearly hope so!! ^_____^

i want to read more of this manga, i read it right from the start and it was my favourite till the mangaka stopped drawing.i hope he will rebirth it soon....
