The thing I love most about this manga are the characters. They make it a fun read (not to mention, I believe Nai to be the cutest character I've come across in any manga). The plot seems to be going somewhere, and the art is nice. So, all in all I think it's a great manga ^^

I started reading this because I discovered it through a Surprise Me! in another website. I thought the art was pretty interesting so I decided to check it out...

Well, watta ya know! I actual fell in love with this series! The art is just absolutely gorgeous, and the bishies are just too cute! The storyline is very unique, I like it very much. It goes on a quick but followable pace and the art goes very well with it. There's enough action to keep you at the edge of your seat. The characters' looks can be a bit consistent so I often mixed them up at first, but they're overall likable (especially Nai!)

It's quite interesting; and while the story setting and the characters are cliched up to a certain point, there are several unique features which do not fail to appeal.
I agree completely with the comment below mine. The characters are very likable, and little Nai is the sweetest and most adorable kid ever!
The art is not bad- if a little sketchy. The plot seems to have promise of getting better in the future.
I'd recommend this to anyone.

then again I think one difference between shounen series and shoujo or josei is that in shoujo or josei, it (the story) seems more likely to stick to the author's original plan, in which shounen (e.g. jump) the series will be soon canceled once they lose popularity.

so, in all likelihood, I love how the story seems to be well planned by the author and the way the mysteries being unfold one by one neatly

This one's really nice. If you're a fan of D.Gray-man u shld definitely read this! But the protagonist here is a weakling. Still his weakness is forgiven cuz he's really such a cute little kid! And he's not the kind that keeps crying in an annoying way.
I love the relationships between the characters, and the action is good to.
I guess the plot and whole fantasy world thing is the best part of it. Can't wait for more.

I actually prefer reading the manga to watching the anime. Just because the anime skips all the funny scenes. But the main storyline is still adapted well. The drawing is so adorable! Love Nai and Gareki! biggrin

Karneval really suprised me with it´s plot. I didnt expect much of it at first but I kept on reading because the art is eye catching. Yes the plot is a bit dragging but it is going somewhere and I really like the way it is taking. But the question is... am I the only one who was bawling her eyes out for no apparent reason? It has something to do with the innocence of some characters, it´s just heart warming. I never felt like this towards a manga before. Especially Nai. The artist really did an amazing job in expressing Nais view of his surroundings. And even thought I´m a person for romance the friendship and the platonic love that is going on is refreshing and beautiful. I hope it stays this way. Otherwise I don´t see anything that could go wrong with Karneval. If not for the plot people should read it for the characters. They´re lovely and unique.

I'm currently halfway done with whats updated (so basically up to chap 30 ish) and really, the plot is kinda boring me. I read this mostly for the art and the interesting tags. The art is truly breathtaking and I have to say, Yogi looks very much like Gary from IB, right up to the thorns and
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
silver hair
(am I the only one who thought that?)
Let me just say this...
the only thing that has somewhat captured my attention is
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Nai being part niji and Karoku's mysterious back story with Nai

Again the art is amazing and if the plot was more toward what I like then maybe I'd be more intrigued. I'll continue reading for now, and if my opinion somehow changes... then I'll update this... then again, I might be so bored with this that I just never finish reading. It just isn't my cup of tea.

If art and some story concepts wouldn't be as shoujo-like I'm sure more guys would read it too. It has many great details and awesome platonic relationships. Like at the very beginning, when Gareki (who is still an unknown entity) suddenly abstained from helping his comrade because he saw something, you can already have a guess at part of his character and maybe past(?).

This is one thing that makes the difference between superficial or not in this genre I guess.

The art is really pretty, the uniforms and clothes are well designed, characters have personalities and the story is quite fun to watch... But put that aside, there are too much characters and some of them are quite redundant, not to mention the meaningless POVs and suppose to be touching stories... Uhm, not much for my liking but it's still good I guess...

But not like ForteAtrox, the person I hate the most in this series is Yori, not Nai. Nai is my fav one. Just like you said, Nai is innocent, but he has a reason for that. He is not human, he is an animal, a small and extremelly weak animal to begin with, so what more could you expect an animal to behave? I find him sweet and lovely.

But Yogi is opposite. He is innocent, childish, girly, clumsy, cheerful, emotional... kind to everyone and get scared easily, even more than Nai! I want to tell you that I actually don't find these guys Hatori or Akari hot at all, I've always fond of cute and kid-like guys, but Yogi is just too much. He had cross the line and became really annoying after each chapter. Not the main character, yet he appears sooooooo much, and the shouen ai-ish he give off doesn't annoy me any less . I admit, I like shounen ai, but can not with some unreasonable character like this.

p/s: ah well, I also love Gareki. But who wouldn't tho? smile
