Really really like this one

I think my taste for manga is quite weird. I like all those huge obstacles that seemingly ones can't overcome in relationship. This manga offers plenty of those I think. And it's good. And it works for me really well smile

I Agree with some comments bellow, while im not that much of a shoujo fan since im a guy and all i have read a fair deal of the genre. . It started out good characters had their own personality, kai was still a guy even in a girls body while tatsuki was just tatsuki. . there was a bit of love blossoming at first but right at the mid point of the story it went downhill. . the plot then centers around marika and her love for her brother this changes the main characters as the side characters. . marikas love was superficial in my opinion. .and the ending did not satisfy me cause when i started reading this i felt this would have a really good ending to it. . It started with tatsuki and kai in marikas body it should have ended with it as well. .

I was interested at first, but halfway through it fizzled away. The core conflict of the story was taken over by a less interesting one and the characters become less interesting the more we get to know them. The ending wanders around without a climax or a point, and all the relationship conflicts resolve insipidly. I know I'm not the target audience for this and perhaps the target audience likes that kind of thing, but - eh. Overall, fairly disappointing.

It seems that the other reviewers got nothing but praise for this manga, which I must confess, I cannot relate to. It is true that the manga tries to awaken and angle some interesting themes about gender of the soul, affections and the norms about gender that's been dragged down on us by society, but the manga fails and ends up just poking halfheartedly at the themes.

I don't mind the artwork, actually I like it. This is just a failed attempt at trying to create a manga combining romance, comedy and angst. The characters are actually very superficial, and I can't help but feel disgusted with the very unrealistic character of Marika and her so-called feelings for her step-brother.

I can't comprehend why everyone's praising this. I ask you to read Double House instead (even though it is flawed), if you're looking for a manga that deals with the themes this manga so greatly fails at expressing.

NICE STORY

as many said, it has a pretty unique story worth reading. the ending as everybody said is the only issue, kinda rushed, could have been more and better. but other than that pretty nice.

I love gender bender, and this is deffinetly a acceptable gender bender. one of the few good ones when the male character has an actual female body.

art style:
not bad you will get used to it if you are a custom to naruto or ranma1/2 type of drawing.

i would have given a 10 but i give it a 8.5 just because of the rush ending.

Worth Reading

I had given this a 10, but now that I've finished it, I'm giving it an 8.

This manga is definitely one of the better ones out there: unique plot, in-depth character development, good pacing. It definitely kept me interested throughout, and the first few volumes were really cute. I gave it an 8 though because I didn't particularly like the ending (I definitely agree with the poster below me). I mean, as a whole, it's a very good and realistic ending (although I personally was rooting for a happily ever after type of thing), but the very very end (as in, the last few panels), seemed like... she didn't finish. I wish she wrapped it up more smoothly.
Overall though, definitely worth reading.

Strange

It started out really well, and the ending was actually very realistic; way more so than the usual happily ever after sort. I even cried at a couple bits.

That said.. it was sort of a strange ending. It was probably partly the scanlation, which is rather rough and hard to read, but it whole thing felt a trifle disjointed to me. Although I usually prefer long drawn out endings, in this case I think a shorter one would have sufficed.

hidden gem

my title says it all, this manga is a hidden gem in a bunch of gender bender mangas. The artwork is very old school, there's no fan service, no explicit sex, artwork is average at best... but the story is the first one I have read that is soo deep and sensual.

Talks deeply about the conflict between the soul vs body, if you were borned into a male/female body, are you neccessarily assigned the gender's stereotypical "mindset"? Does a soul have a gender? Should we express our soul, or our gender?

The main theme of the story is the bonding of souls. The two main characters' deep and unusual bonding (for two "males"). Is it love? Is it friendship? or neither? how do you distinguish them?

Very good ending, don't want to spoil anything, but the ending is among the best manga endings.

I was able to feel how the characters felt at times, I felt sad and happy for them. Some funny parts, but they did not disturb the overall story at all.

It was a very good story of bitter sweetness, well aren't all love stories like that?

I initially read it half-heartedly. Awful drawing, bleh! But as the stoy progresses, I was engrossed into it. I can't really imagine two boys liking each other, it mortifies me, being a conservative type of reader, but this really changed my perspective. A soul really has no gender to begin with, anyway. And its true.
I think that this story deserves my review. And that says a lot for me, being the lazy writer that I am. I only review really good ones and really awful ones. Middle storylines deserved to be forgotten, is what I think.
So, the story is fresh. Its a bit freakish to think two male friends liking each other but the deepness of the story opened up into a lot of possibilities. Its actually two love stories joined into one (if you will include that of Marika). But anyway, I should focus on the main characters.
The dialogue are light and funny and shows how close two souls can be, although completely opposite in character. I can't even describe the feeling of loneliness. Its there.
The story is deep, enchanting and terrific. Yet, its also light, comedic and unusually captivating. You have to read it. Its a keeper!

Very good

The ending unlike most Manga of this Genre, and indeed of others as well, is pretty well done. I found it almost as good as the gender bending of the story, which is well done.

The art isn't as amazing as others manga, but it doesn't detract from the manga, in fact, the fact that it isn't so good, means that the story must make up for it, and it does.

All I can say is read it, if you don't start to like it by the second book, then there isn't much that will, but if you do like, it won't let you down, and it stays good till and after the end.
